Senior Cloud Platform DevOps Engineer

This is a permanent role and we prefer a hybrid working model; we are flexible with remote working as long as you can meet with the team in our London studio in-person now and then.

This is a senior engineering role focused on taking a modern, cloud-forward approach to platform development. You will work on a greenfield, AI-driven SaaS platform, building modern tools that bridge state-of-the-art technology with Framestore's world-class film making and media production workflows. You will help deploy, scale, and secure cloud-native serverless infrastructure to support our generative AI SaaS platform and latest products. Beyond hands-on cloud orchestration, you will focus heavily on developer enablement—empowering the entire team to ship valuable features to production with high velocity and reliability. Working within an agile environment alongside artists, pipeline teams, and systems teams, you will design scalable cloud solutions, embed robust enterprise security practices, and enhance deployment pipelines as the platform grows.

What you’ll do

• Provision, manage, and scale secure, high-availability cloud infrastructure using Terraform and modern orchestration tools following enterprise security standards.

• Drive developer enablement by building, optimizing, and maintaining powerful CI/CD deployment pipelines to streamline developer workflows and increase overall delivery velocity.

• Architect and efficiently scale cloud-native serverless services and execution pipelines to support generative AI SaaS platform workflows and external clients.

• Embed robust enterprise cloud security practices, ensuring comprehensive data protection, secure network topologies, and compliance as the platform scales.

• Implement and enhance comprehensive platform telemetry, observability, logging, and monitoring systems to guarantee high system reliability and performance.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong proficiency in Python and modern web frameworks (FastAPI, Asyncio).

• Proven senior experience developing, operating, and scaling cloud-native SaaS applications and serverless architectures.

• Hands-on expertise with containerisation (Docker) and serverless architectures (Cloud Run, Vertex AI).

• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI).

• Familiarity with cloud security, authentication standards (OAuth, Identity Platform), and secure network topologies.

• A passion for developer enablement, improving team velocity, and fostering a "testable software" mentality.

• Excellent communication skills, allowing you to connect easily with both individuals and the wider team.

You might also have:

• Experience designing setups that seamlessly span cloud providers (AWS, GCP, Azure) and local physical servers.

• Experience integrating or orchestrating generative AI workflows (ComfyUI, LoRAs, LLMs, diffusion models).

• Knowledge of observability, LLM evaluation, and prompt tracing frameworks (Langfuse, Langgraph).

• Experience working within an Agile environment.

• Understanding of GPU workload scaling and compute optimisation for AI models.

• A professional-level cloud certification.
