At Vay, cars are remotely operated on public streets in real time. Running this safely at scale requires a highly reliable, low latency, security critical cloud infrastructure.
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will own and evolve the systems that keep our fleet and remote control stations available, observable, and cost efficient. You’ll work on AWS infrastructure, monitoring, CI/CD, and release tooling that directly supports live customer operations.
You’ll join a pragmatic, experienced engineering team working on a production system already used by customers, with clear ownership, real operational responsibility, and room to shape how the platform scales.
What you'll be drivingYou will be a senior, hands on contributor responsible for the reliability, scalability, and operational excellence of Vay’s cloud infrastructure.
- Cloud infrastructure: Design, operate, and continuously improve our AWS based cloud infrastructure with a strong focus on availability and reliability
- Monitoring and observability: Build and evolve monitoring, alerting, and observability solutions to proactively detect and resolve issues
- Fleet orchestration: Orchestrate software configuration and deployment across 100+ vehicles and remote control stations
- Cost and performance optimisation: Improve infrastructure reliability while optimising cost efficiency as the fleet scales
- CI/CD and release tooling: Increase release frequency and safety by improving CI/CD tooling, automated testing, and self service release processes
- Architecture evolution: Contribute to and help shape the evolution of our cloud and infrastructure architecture as the system grows in complexity and scale

What are we looking forYou will be a seasoned Senior Cloud Infrastructure or DevOps engineer who is comfortable owning complex infrastructure end to end. You combine strong systems knowledge with a pragmatic, automation first mindset and thrive in environments where reliability matters.
- Systems expertise: Strong background in Linux systems, servers, storage, networking, and databases
- Cloud and security: Solid understanding of AWS, cloud networking, and security best practices
- Containerisation: Hands on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as Code: Proven experience with IaC and automation using tools such as Terraform and Ansible
- CI/CD: Hands on experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub Actions and CircleCI
- Scripting and automation: Comfortable scripting in Python and or Bash/Shell
- Autonomous execution: Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions in a production environment

Vay is the first company to drive a car without a person inside on public streets in Europe and the US, enabled by teledriving (e.g. remote driving) technology.
