The Role

This role is part of our INFOnline team, a saas.group company.

INFOnline is a provider of digital audience measurement in Germany, delivering trusted and standardized data on website and app usage to publishers, marketers, and media agencies. As the official technical service provider for Germany’s digital reach currency, INFOnline ensures independent and privacy-compliant measurement of online content consumption. Our technology enables accurate and comparable performance insights across digital platforms, supporting data-driven decisions in the media industry.

Profile Overview

INFOnline is embarking on a critical transformation. With key changes in our infrastructure and legacy systems, we are preparing to migrate from an on-prem data center to a containerized, cloud-ready environment.

We’re seeking a Senior DevOps / Cloud Engineer to play a pivotal role in stabilizing, modernizing, and preparing our systems for this transition. You’ll be stepping into a challenging environment, with limited documentation, legacy monolithic systems, and a team undergoing significant change. But this is also your opportunity to drive real impact—bringing stability to a vital system, preparing it for the future, and helping shape the technical direction.

You’ll collaborate closely with leadership and remaining technical experts to ensure knowledge transfer, make the system cloud-ready, and support a critical data center exit by the end of the year.

Your immediate impact in the first 3-6 months will be:

  • Understand the current system landscape (through documentation, shadowing, and hands-on exploration) and become familiar with our digital measurement solutions.
  • Stabilize and modernize the on-prem infrastructure, making it cloud-ready (containerized and deployable in any modern cloud environment).
  • Collaborate with colleagues to build out CI/CD pipelines and automate key processes.
  • Contribute to selecting the appropriate cloud provider and participate in defining the future-state architecture.
  • Lead and support the migration of systems from on-premises to the cloud environment.
  • Ensure proper knowledge transfer and documentation during the transition
Your responsibilities
  • Dive deep into our legacy systems (built with multiple languages like Python 2/3, PHP, JavaScript, Go, C#) and modernize them for containerized environments (Kubernetes, Docker).
  • Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to gather insights and ensure knowledge continuity.
  • Architect, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins-based).
Prepare the system for migration: optimize infrastructure, document processes, and propose best-fit solutions for cloud deployment.
  • Actively contribute to the selection of the cloud provider and design decisions
  • Work independently and take ownership of driving initiatives forward in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment.
What You bring to the table
  • Proven experience with cloud environments (AWS preferred), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform).
  • Solid experience in DevOps, system administration, and infrastructure optimization.
  • Strong Python (2 and 3) skills, along with some experience in other languages (PHP, JavaScript, Go) and a willingness to navigate legacy codebases.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, especially Jenkins, and experience building them from scratch.
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (MariaDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB, Redis), and streaming technologies (Kafka).
  • Strong knowledge of Linux environments.
  • A fearless mindset: ready to question, break, fix, and improve existing systems.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and transferring knowledge effectively.
  • Interest in publishing market measurement or large-scale data systems is a plus.
What’s in it for You
  • Ultimate flexibility: We’re 100% remote. You can work from wherever you like, whenever you like.
  • Freedom and autonomy: We’re a high-trust team, and you’ll be given lots of flexibility to solve problems in your own way — with plenty of help from the team when you need it.
  • Minimum bureaucracy: We don’t like to get bogged down with meetings and red tape. We like to be efficient and keep momentum steady & sustainable.
  • Small & friendly team: We help each other out, have fun, and joke around.
  • Our network: We are a community of entrepreneurial SaaS professionals that regularly exchange ideas, knowledge, learning and expertise with each other internally.
  • Flexible time off: We want you to recharge your batteries when needed.

INFOnline is part of saas.group and we have a shared goal of succeeding together.
