Job Duties and Responsibilities

Boost Mobile is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to support automated deployment and management in AWS cloud-native environments. The position focuses on driving automated recovery and zero-touch provisioning across next-gen 5G infrastructure. Key focus areas include technical leadership, mentoring junior talent, and architecting highly available, fault-tolerant platform infrastructure to optimize performance metrics.
What Success Looks Like (Objectives):
- Serve as a technical leader to mentor junior engineers, onboard new team members, and resolve complex programming and design challenges
- Design, build, and maintain highly available, fault-tolerant platform and AWS cloud infrastructure solutions
- Establish organizational standards for infrastructure tuning, deployment, backup, and automation processes while monitoring key system metrics like MTBF and MTTR
- Drive automated responses to system incidents to minimize manual intervention and streamline triage workflows
- Leverage AI tools and AI applications to optimize cloud infrastructure monitoring, predictive capacity planning, and automated incident triage
Skills, Experience and Requirements
Core Skills and Competencies (What you’ll bring):
- Deep technical expertise in administering AWS cloud services (ECR, EC2, ECS, IAM), databases, and operating systems
- Strong problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills to clarify requirements, resolve ambiguities, and align technical strategies across teams
- Critical experience with container orchestration and Infrastructure-as-Code tooling including Kubernetes, Ansible, CloudFormation, and GitLab
- Critical experience with system metrics tracking, incident management, standard operating procedures, and technical documentation
- AI Application and AI Literacy competency, with the ability to integrate modern AI tools to enhance infrastructure automation and deployment workflows
Additional Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Infrastructure-as-Code, automating deployments, cluster management, and systems security within a CI/CD pipeline
- Strong programming background in languages such as Java, C++, Perl, Python, or advanced Shell scripting
- Background in Linux or Windows system administration, including configuration, performance tuning, and OS troubleshooting
- Familiarity with Agile at Scale, SAFe, or Lean Systems Engineering frameworks
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical degree; or equivalent related experience
- Minimum Experience: 4+ years of experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) or related cloud technologies
- Required Technical Skills: Must have at least 4 years of experience with:
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification
- AWS Cloud Services (ECR, EC2, ECS, IAM)
- Automated deployment and orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Ansible, CloudFormation, GitLab)

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $96,250.00/Year - $137,500.00/Year
