Senior Cloud Engineer

Senior Cloud Engineer: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud migration, cloud infrastructure, DevOps practices, and on-premises network and security knowledge. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud platforms, automation, and the ability to design, implement, and manage secure and scalable cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Cloud Migration:
   

• Lead and execute large-scale cloud migration projects from on-premises environments to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.).
  

• Assess existing on-premises infrastructure and applications to develop migration strategies.
  

• Plan and execute lift-and-shift, re-platforming, and re-architecture migrations.
  

• Ensure minimal downtime and data loss during migration processes.
  

• Proficiency in cloud migration tools and services (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine).
  

• Develop and maintain automation scripts (primarily Python) for infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and migration tasks.
  

• Collaborate with application development teams to understand application requirements and ensure seamless migration.
  

2. Cloud Infrastructure Management:
   

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure to support scalable and highly available applications.
  

• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  

• Optimize cloud resources for cost, performance, and scalability.
  

• Monitor and troubleshoot cloud infrastructure and applications.
  

3. DevOps Practices (Familiarity):
   

• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps.
  

• Automate deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications using Kubernetes, Docker, or similar technologies.
  

• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices into the software development lifecycle.
  

• Ensure continuous integration, delivery, and deployment of applications.
  

4. Network, Security & Compliance:
   

• Demonstrate strong knowledge of on-premises networking, including VPNs, firewalls, load balancers, and DNS.
  

• Implement and manage hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premises and cloud environments.
  

• Ensure robust security practices across both on-premises and cloud environments.
  

• Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing.
  

• Implement and manage cloud security best practices, including identity and access management (IAM), encryption, and network security.
  

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, SOC 2).
  

• Monitor and respond to security incidents and threats in real-time.
  

5. Collaboration and Leadership:
   

• Work closely with cross-functional teams such as managed services, delivery and presales.
  

• Mentor and guide junior engineers and team members.
  

• Document migration processes and create knowledge base articles.
  

• Contribute to the development of cloud migration frameworks and methodologies.
  

• Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and best practices.
  

Desired Skills and Expertise:

• 4+ years of experience in IT infrastructure and cloud engineering with a minimum of 2+ years of experience specializing in cloud migration projects.
  

• Cloud Platform Expertise (AWS, Azure, GCP) on 2 of the Cloud Platforms 
  

• Deep understanding of Linux system administration, including command-line tools and scripting.
  

• Cloud networking & security knowledge (design & implementation): virtual networks, routing, security, monitoring (AWS, Azure, GCP).
  

• Strong scripting skills (Python), with experience in automating infrastructure tasks.
  

• Proficiency in cloud migration tools and services (e.g., AWS Migration Hub, Azure Migrate, Google Cloud Migrate for Compute Engine).
  

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates) is a plus.
  

• Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) is a plus.
  

• Knowledge on implementing Observability Platforms
  

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  

• Highly team oriented & practices collaboration as a key to success
  

• Self motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  

• Good to have certification on any cloud platform.
