Shape the Face of Cancer Treatment at Luminate Medical 

At Luminate, our mission is to make cancer care more human. We design and build technologies that help oncologists make cancer care better, faster, and safer for patients. 

 

Our first two products, Lily and Lilac, are revolutionary wearable devices designed to address hair loss and peripheral neuropathy, respectively – two of the most common and difficult side effects of cancer treatment. We have an exciting pipeline focused on building products that help cancer patients to live, not just survive. Our latest product, Lotus, enables at-home administration of low-risk anti-cancer drugs.   

 

We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Architect to become our internal expert across our cloud infrastructure programs. In this role, you will drive the architecture, design, implementation, and optimisation of our cloud-based platforms that support our medical device software ecosystem. As a key technical leader, you will ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions that seamlessly integrate with web, mobile, and device-level systems, while maintaining a strong focus on performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.

What You Will Do: 

  • Drive patient-focused cancer care products from concept to reality by: 
  • Build HIPAA-compliant cloud environment using cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).  
  • Own and evolve the cloud architecture across deployment, staging and monitoring environments.  
  • Lead and design API gateway strategy for hospitals, pharmacies, EHRs and third-party partners. 
  • Architect end-to-end system that connects mobile app, web platforms and healthcare API integrations.  
  • Implement scalable and fault-tolerant data synchronisation supporting event-driven or message-based workflows.  
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines with automated testing and secure deployments.  

 

  • Lead development of Luminate software cloud architecture by: 
  • Design and optimise scalable cloud environments that integrate with mobile, web and device-level systems.  
  • Ensure all solutions align with regulatory, security, and compliance requirements in the healthcare environment.   
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering, regulatory and clinical services team to drive cloud capabilities for our medical device ecosystem.

Requirements – The Ideal Candidate Must Have: 

  • 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, systems architecture or DevOps.  
  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure or GCP and designing high availability cloud systems.  
  • Comprehensive experience in architecting microservices, distributed systems, or highly scalable backend platforms.  
  • Excellent understanding of data security, encryption, identity and access management compliance.   
  • Experience working to standards such as ISO 13485, HIPAA, GDPR, etc. 
  • A qualification in Software Engineering, or similar. 

  

Advantages – It Would be Advantageous to Have: 

  • Experience with EHR or healthcare data integrations (HL7, FHIR etc). 
  • Background with IoT or connected medical devices and cloud-to-device communication.  
  • Understanding of designing AI microservices and managing data pipelines for model training.  
  • Implementing AI models in a HIPAA-compliant cloud environment.

Skills Required
