IT Senior Cloud Architect
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of our cloud infrastructure. In this role, you will define the technical direction for our cloud environment, ensure it is secure, scalable, and cost-efficient, and act as the go-to expert for architectural decisions across the organization. As we develop software and provide SaaS and PaaS solutions to our customers, you will work closely with engineering, security and operations teams as well as our Software R&D and Software development teams to translate business requirements into robust cloud solutions, while establishing best practices and standards that guide our long-term cloud strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and own the overall cloud architecture, including infrastructure topology, account/subscription structure, networking and governance models.
- Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, resilient and secure cloud architectures.
- Define and enforce security best practices, including identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption and data protection, in line with relevant regulatory and compliance frameworks.
- Establish cost governance practices together with the FinOps Manager to monitor, forecast and optimize cloud spend.
- Drive adoption of Infrastructure as Code and automation practices to improve deployment speed, consistency and reliability.
- Partner with engineering, operations, software developer and security teams to align infrastructure decisions with product and business goals.
- Support the Software R&D and Software development team to build robust and scalable SaaS and PaaS solutions.
- Define architecture standards, conduct design reviews and ensure consistency across teams and projects.
- Guide and mentor engineers on cloud architecture principles and best practices.
- Continuously evaluate new cloud services, tools and industry trends to improve the organization's technical capabilities.
- Contribute to disaster recovery planning, high-availability design and incident response processes.
Required Experience and Qualifications
8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, infrastructure engineering or a related senior technical role.
Proven track record designing and implementing large-scale, enterprise-grade cloud solutions.
Primary experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms; AWS experience is beneficial
Strong understanding of cloud security principles: IAM, encryption, network security, and zero-trust architecture.
Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to your industry (e.g., GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2).
Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, Bicep/ARM).
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Scripting/programming skills (e.g., Python, Go or similar) and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (VPNs, VPCs/VNets, load balancing, DNS).
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Experience mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Fluent in English (business level)
