Role: Senior Claims Specialist - Reinsurance
Location: Singapore
Position type: Full time, permanent
As a Senior Claims Specialist within our Asia Reinsurance Claims team, you will be responsible for the proactive and efficient handling of reinsurance claims, ensuring optimal outcomes for both our clients and the business. With a commitment to MS Amlin’s values, you will manage claims within your authority limits, focusing on timely resolutions and safeguarding the business’s interests while delivering an exceptional claims service.
In this role, you will be integral to maintaining our reputation as a TRUSTed and first-class claims partner, consistently delivering a high-standard experience for clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders. You will ensure that all claims practices align with MS Amlin’s policies, procedures, and claims philosophy, fostering confidence and trust in our reinsurance claims handling.
About The Job
Key responsibilities for this role include:
To dynamically handle reinsurance claims from First Notice of Loss through settlement, ensuring meticulous assessment, adjustment, subrogation and contribution review to deliver a consistently superior level of claims service.
Proactively monitor claims to confirm early 'best estimate' reserves and ultimate losses are accurately reflected, ensuring valid claims are settled promptly with a tight control of costs throughout the claims lifecycle.
Ensure claims handling adheres to MS Amlin's procedures, controls and regulatory requirements (Lloyd's/FCA/PRA/J-SOX), with individual performance resulting in 'green' Claims KPIs - including diary adherence, SLA response times, and accurate records across all systems.
Role model and promote a respectful culture of open communication, collaboration, dynamic claims adjustment and continuous improvement, sharing knowledge with the team - engaging underwriters and brokers early on complex claims to agree handling strategy, and proactively flag emerging trends, unusual claim movements or potential exposures, using data and MI to support observations.
Lead on large loss and CAT tracking for the MS AAP operation, using dashboards and reporting tools to maintain an accurate, up-to-date picture.
Build strong relationships with our broker partners, understanding their requirements, gaining feedback to improve service delivery and strengthen relationships with co-insurers, as needed, to positively influence outcomes, becoming a recognised and trusted reinsurance claims partner across our APAC and MENA markets.
Support improvements to reserving discipline, claims data and MI and help standardise record-keeping and reduce manual/duplicate data entry across teams.
Support refinement of triage rules between MS AAP and outsourcing partner teams to ensure clear, consistent claims routing.
Contribute to the Claims Value Creation Plan, supporting accurate reserving and outwards reinsurance recovery across local programmes, and identifying opportunities to reduce leakage.
Identify and flag opportunities to improve claims processes and workflows, and demonstrate awareness of subrogation, contribution and salvage opportunities, chasing outcomes where relevant.
Act as an ambassador for MS Amlin, raising our profile in the market and proactively strengthening our claims reputation as a trusted partner in the reinsurance market.
To provide claims thought leadership and 'lead indicator' insights, verbally and via formal reporting requirements, through knowledge and analysis of claims data (as well as providing input to the reserving process from a claims perspective) to facilitate better business decisions.
Support the development of colleagues through coaching, knowledge sharing, peer review and constructive technical challenge, helping to build capability across the claims function.

Some essential qualifications, experience, skills, and competencies for this role include:
