Position Summary

The Senior Claims Examiner will adjudicate all aspects of Travel/Accident and Health claims within stated authority. Interface with assistance provider. Handle subrogation and coordination of benefits. Field and respond to claims-related calls, emails and other correspondence from insureds, providers and accounts.

Responsibilities

  • Adjudicate all aspects of travel claims within stated authority with a high degree of accuracy
  • Interface with assistance providers
  • Handle subrogation and coordination of benefits
  • Field and respond to claims-related calls, emails and other correspondence from insureds, providers and accounts
  • Coordinate with Legal for complaints, appeals, DOI/BBB complaints
  • Conduct peer audits
  • Mentor Claims Examiners

Experience & Required skills

  • 7 + years of claims experience in the Travel, Accident and Health or Medical claims fields
  • Experience processing claims in relevant lines of business
  • Experience working with claims systems
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze, organize and present information
  • Exceptional time management skills
  • Strong verbal, written communication and organizational skills
  • Strong evaluation and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and handle high pressure situations
  • Demonstrated ability to take part in active strategic discussions

Education

  • Bachelor's degree preferred or 7 years of claims experience in Travel, Accident and Health or Medical claims fields

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

$71,900 - $85,000/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
