The Chemours Belle Facility located in Belle, WV has a Senior Chemical Engineer position available. This is a highly visible, key role within the Company supporting the Chemours Belle Team. This position will report to the Manufacturing Technology Manager.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
The individual will provide overall Chemical Engineering guidance and support for the Operations, Maintenance, and Technology Teams. This will entail involvement in day-to-day troubleshooting in the plant, as well as support for improvement programs in the areas of process improvements, uptime, reliability, cost, safety, new capital installations, etc. The Belle Plant includes areas that are designated high hazard processes. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide Chemical Engineering expertise and mentoring to Technical Engineers, Operations and Maintenance.
- Recommend and implement solutions to drive safety and continuous improvement.
- Assist with recommendations for day-to-day troubleshooting.
- Lead and participates in Incident Investigations.
- Lead and participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) related activities such as Process Hazards Analysis (PHA), Management of Change (MOC), Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR), Mechanical Integrity (MI), and Process Technology (PT).
- Leads the site Risk Management Plan (RMP).
- Drives area Capital Plan.
- Participates in Highly Toxic Material Committee.
- Provides Environmental Support.
- Travel requirements are <10%.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- Minimum of a BS in Chemical Engineering.
- 7 + years of experience in a Chemical Manufacturing Process.
- Demonstrated knowledge of PSM, Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA), Facility Siting and RMP.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pressure relief device sizing.
- Demonstrated knowledge of typical equipment used in a Chemical Plant (i.e. pumps, compressors, piping, distillation columns, reactors, refrigeration machines, etc.).
- Good Oral and Written skills.
- Good interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Willing and able to wear required PPE (personal protective equipment) such as steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators, etc.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) Certification.
