Senior Category Manager (x|f|m) – Hybrid

We are currently looking for a Senior Category Manager (x|f|m) in the Supply Chain Management BPS (Bio Process Solutions) division, based in Göttingen (Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH). In this exciting role, you will evaluate and improve our procurement activities by analysing company spend, supplier partnerships and new opportunities. You will drive the development of our supplier base and manage the performance of the assigned suppliers throughout the lifecycle.

• You spearhead the creation and implementation of category strategies with a 2-5 year vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and supplier technology roadmaps

• You oversee and optimize our existing supply base, leading contract and price negotiations to enhance our supplier portfolio

• Lead and drive the execution of product cost-out projects from initiation to implementation, ensuring on-time delivery of targeted results

• You manage contract development, maintenance, and execution within your scope, ensuring seamless contract management

• You evaluate and manage supplier performance, driving excellence and continuous improvement

• You stay ahead of industry trends, providing strategic insights and advice to management, and taking proactive actions

• You analyze cost trends, develop forecasts, and translate them into actionable insights for business and category management

What will convince us

• Academic degree in Business Administration or relevant field

• Several years of of relevant working experience including strategic categories

• APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification preferred

• Strong knowledge of supply chain management required

• Strong communication and negotiation skills

• Ability to identify the strategic procurement implications and opportunities

• Proven software skills, e.g. Microsoft Office, SAP is required

• Willingness to travel occasionally

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills in English, German and  French is  desirable
