Summary:
In this role, you will serve as the category expert for an assigned portfolio of foodservice products and services for internal and external stakeholders. You will manage a portfolio of food service agreements and develop contracting strategies to reduce spend and improve operational efficiencies. You will contribute to all aspects of supply chain strategic sourcing processes including market opportunity identification, strategy and portfolio development, negotiations, marketing, and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a portfolio of food service agreements.
- Develop a deep understanding of the products, suppliers, and industry trends that impact the portfolio through market research, attendance at industry events, and continuous learning opportunities.
- Develop contracting strategies that will deliver unique value to support individual clients, supply networks, academic medical centers as well as customers and clients in non-health care markets.
- Participate in the competitive bid process by negotiating favorable terms and conditions.
- Implement new programmatic offerings while maintaining practical knowledge of the hospitality industry, market dynamics and new technology.
- Develop and manage relationships with clients, suppliers, and alliances to ensure satisfaction through effective, timely communication and problem resolution.
- Provide expertise to various audiences regarding the spend categories managed.
- Create category-specific collateral to share insights, expertise, and best practices with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead periodic business reviews and strategic planning meetings with suppliers for categories in the portfolio, with support from leadership.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 2 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Strategic sourcing or category management experience related to hospitality foodservice environment preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience presenting to small and large audiences.
- Must be financially savvy in working with expense and revenue budgets.
- Excellent verbal, written presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $88,900.00 to $155,500.00.
This position is also incentive eligible.
