An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint a new Senior Case Officer to oversee the day-to-day running of the team.

About The Role

The Appointeeship & Deputyship (A&D) team provide a money management service for Adult Social Care service users in Leicestershire who lack mental capacity to manage their own affairs independently. We are a busy and supportive team with a varied workload and 

Daily activities include

  • Assigning workload and associated work activities to A&D Case Officers and ensure their coordination to achieve an effective, efficient, and timely service.
  • Supervising the day-to-day operation of the A&D team and providing guidance on operational matters, development, performance, attendance, and conduct. 
  • Providing advice and guidance to team members, and other department staff members in relation to complex cases.

About You

To apply for this post, you must be able to evidence in your application how you meet the following criteria:

  • Education to GCSE or NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience of working in a social care or government finance or administrative field.
  • Experience of taking supervisory responsibility for service delivery, staff, and resources and gaining successful outcomes from difficult conversations.
  • Professional curiosity and practical problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience of using financial and data management systems.
  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care and Welfare Benefits and high standards of both written and verbal communication.
  • Experience of working independently, with integrity and accountability, under minimal supervision.
  • Extensive, up to date knowledge of current legislation in relation to Appointeeship & Deputyship and associated guidance, and its application in established policy and practice.
