Job DescriptionAbout the Role
The Case Manager is responsible for independently managing sickness absence cases in compliance with Dutch legislation, particularly the Wet verbetering poortwachter (WvP). The role requires a strong sense of autonomy, solid knowledge of legal requirements, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The Case Manager ensures legal compliance, supports managers and employees throughout the reintegration process, and contributes to ongoing improvements in absence management within the organization.
Your Responsibilities
Advise and support line managers and logistics colleagues in properly handling absence notifications and taking appropriate follow-up actions in accordance with the Wet verbetering poortwachter (WvP).
Focus on managing long-term absence cases from week 6 onwards. The first 5 weeks are handled by 3 colleagues and line managers, who value your input and expertise.
Prepare and monitor problem analyses, action plans, and reintegration case files, adjusting them as needed.
Conduct reintegration meetings with employees and managers.
Maintain contact with external parties such as occupational health services, company doctors, and reintegration agencies.
Submit required notifications to UWV in a timely manner, including safety net cases and WAZO-related reports.
Manage administration related to maternity, paternity, and parental leave.
Accurately process applications and statuses in Workday Time & Absence and ensure compliance with WvP/WAZO regulations.
Calculate entitlement to continued salary payment during the second year of illness (e.g. 70% continuation).
Deliver trainings to managers on absence and reintegration procedures.
Identify issues and propose process and policy improvements.
Contribute to the creation of protocols and HR process documentation.
Monitor and document work-related incidents properly.
Your Profile
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Social Legal Services, or a related field.
Completed training or certification in case management or a similar program focused on the Wet verbetering poortwachter (WvP).
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience as a case manager in a large organization (preferably 1000+ employees).
Experience with Workday, particularly the Time & Absence modules, is a plus.
In-depth knowledge of Dutch absence-related legislation, including WvP and WAZO.
Independent, precise, and proactive working style.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Analytical mindset with good numerical skills.
Able to maintain oversight in a complex and fast-growing work environment.
Collaborative and solution-oriented approach.
Proficiency in German and English for professional communication with German-speaking colleagues; strong command of Dutch is highly preferred.

Salary Range: €58,000 – €70,000 per year (full-time), including 8% holiday allowance.
