We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Capture Director, based in McLean, Virginia, to lead and manage capture efforts supporting the Air and Space Force Solutions (ASFS) organization. This role requires a strategic, results-driven leader with deep knowledge in defense acquisition processes, government contracting, and the unique requirements of aerospace and space related programs. The Senior Capture Director will be responsible for developing and executing capture strategies that secure critical contracts and foster long-term partnerships within the Air Force and Space domains. The Senior Capture Director will report directly to the Vice President and General Manager of ASFS and lead the Capture and Solutions Architect team.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead capture strategy development and execution for complex Air Force and Space Force procurements, including major systems and services contracts
- Manage, mentor, and provide strategic direction to the Capture and Solutions Architect team.
- Oversight of capture pipeline, assignments, deliverables, and expenditure
- Work closely with the ASFS Business Winning Lead to shape and qualify opportunities
- Proactive management of New Business Funds across multiple efforts
- Provide briefings and analysis of capture pipeline, critical pursuits and risk assessments
- Provide leadership and oversight during proposal development phase
- Identify and develop solutions that can be leveraged across multiple opportunities
- Identify opportunities for efficiencies to include automated processes, tools, resource sharing, and data reuse
- Build and maintain strong relationships with government stakeholders, industry partners, and internal teams
- Coordinate cross-functional capture teams including business development, technical, pricing, and proposal personnel to develop winning solutions
- Monitor competitive landscape and government budget trends to inform capture strategies
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Active security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or related field
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in capture management or business development within the Air Force and Space Force domain.
- Proven ability to lead captures from $50M to $500M+ for Prime bids
- Experience with Shipley or other capture methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership experience managing and developing high performing capture executives
- Track record of leading pursuits from qualification to award leveraging honed capture processes and offering creative expertise
- Demonstrated proficiency in locating key win themes and discriminators
- Experience leading story board and color team reviews
- Effective use of cross business area/ cross sector solutioning and resource loading to increase PWIN and drive best in class solutions.
- Effective in shaping RFPs prior to release through strategic customer engagement and mission enhancing solutions
- Open to engage and challenge subordinates, peers and leadership on critical pursuits to ensure we are developing best in class solutions
- Proven ability to provide leadership and oversight during proposal development phase
- Experience locating common themes across various customer sets to drive long term strategy
- Proficiency in identifying opportunities for efficiencies to include automated processes, tools, and data reuse across corporate capability offerings
- Aptitude to perform at high levels in a fast paced, matrixed environment with minimal or no supervision
- Deep understanding of government procurement regulations and processes (e.g., FAR, DFARS)
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and stakeholders
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- MBA or comparable advanced degree
- Shipley, APMP or similar certification
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $173023 - $294137
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
