Role Overview

We are looking for experienced CAM Programmers with strong hands-on expertise in Autodesk Fusion 360, multi-axis CNC machining, toolpath strategy, and post-processor configuration. The role focuses on creating production-quality CAM outputs and clear instructional material that reflects real manufacturing best practices. No previous AI experience is required.

CONTRACT: Short-term contractor assignment, paid per approved task

COMMITMENT: Flexible, subject to minimum weekly task submissions

LOCATIONS: Remote, GLOBAL

PROCESS: 30-minute AI interview → Hiring Manager review

HOURLY RATE: $25 - $50/h

NOTE: Strong Fusion 360 experience and hands-on multi-axis CNC programming are key requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Develop precision CAM toolpaths in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining.
  • Program complex milling and turning operations across metals and plastics.
  • Optimize machining strategies based on material, tolerance, tooling, and machine capabilities.
  • Simulate and verify toolpaths to identify collisions, gouging, and inefficient machining operations.
  • Configure, tune, and document CNC post-processors for different machine environments.
  • Create setup sheets, tooling lists, and machining strategy documentation.
  • Produce clear instructional content and walkthroughs covering CAM programming techniques and best practices.
  • Review first-part results and inspection feedback to improve machining strategies.
  • Refine toolpaths based on quality, cycle time, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Document technical decisions clearly for downstream manufacturing professionals.

Requirements
  • At least 5 years of hands-on CAM programming experience.
  • Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Fusion 360 Manufacturing/CAM.
  • Proven experience programming 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machining operations.
  • Strong knowledge of milling, turning, tooling, feeds and speeds, and toolpath optimization.
  • Experience configuring or modifying CNC post-processors.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
  • Experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, or engineering plastics.
  • Excellent written English and ability to document complex CAM workflows clearly.
