Princess Polly is on the hunt for a Senior Buyer - Dresses to lead the charge in making our brand the ultimate one-stop shop for trend-driven customers. We’re looking for a dynamic, industry-leading professional who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment. As the Senior Buyer - Dresses at Princess Polly, you will be at the forefront of driving innovation and growth, curating best-in-market, on-trend, and customer-centric collections. This pivotal role is key to expanding our dresses reach and delivering exceptional assortments that captivate our customers. You’ll also mentor junior team members, lead strategic category planning, and deliver exceptional financial results aligned with company targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stay ahead of trends by monitoring social media, influencers, competitors, and runways to curate styles aligned with the Princess Polly customer.
- Develop balanced product ranges across categories, ensuring they align with trend direction, customer demand, and seasonal needs.
- Incorporate lower-impact materials, achieving a minimum of 40% sustainable styles in weekly sign-offs.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with suppliers, source new materials, and maintain a robust vendor network.
- Meet category sales and margin targets, monitor replenishment success, and drive profitability for new styles.
- Lead, mentor, and develop junior team members, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Work closely with planning, replenishment, and supply chain teams to optimize processes and maximize category performance.
Skills and Experience:
- 5+ years of buying experience, specifically within apparel categories.
- Proven leadership experience in fashion-forward retail.
- A strong connection to the Princess Polly brand and a deep understanding of our customer.
- A creative eye and passion for identifying and curating on-trend, commercial styles.
- Proven ability to use data to inform decisions and achieve financial targets.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and negotiation skills.
- An independent worker who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
