Overview:
The Senior Buyer is responsible for managing key commodities and suppliers, including placing and managing purchase orders, managing inventory levels, and ensuring on time deliveries. The Senior Buyer works closely with the operations team to maintain balance between supply and demand for production and customer orders while supporting Company goals. The Senior Buyer participates and shares expertise in solution finding and process improvement meetings.
Key Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Responsible for managing purchased components within key commodities and suppliers including analyzing demand to determine min/max of inventory levels, validating lead time, reviewing order report, placing and confirming purchase orders, and other transactional tasks.
- Ensure accuracy of all order and inventory management related ERP transactions including updated estimated delivery dates and purchase order confirmations.
- Sourcing and quoting of new and/or existing parts as needed for lead time improvement, cost savings or quality improvement initiatives.
- Request and manager RMAs with suppliers.
- New part number creation in NetSuite ERP including updated costs and sell price.
- Ensuring on time deliveries to meet production dates on special order fulfillments.
- Work with Accounts Payable to ensure invoice/purchase order match.
- Work with suppliers to improve lead time and cost, quality and delivery.
- Continually update status reports for key production parts.
- Take proactive initiative to resolve supply problems involving materials, manufacturing and supply chain.
- Sourcing/quoting of parts.
- Drive innovation and process improvement on a continual basis.
- Utilize accounting software to record, store, and analyze information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Related Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a procurement/supply chain role.
- Experience in multiple commodity purchasing preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of NetSuite or other ERP Systems preferred.
- Proficient in the basics of Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Teams.
