As the Senior Buyer for the Premium Fashion Accessories category, you are leading a high performing team, creating new and innovative ways to connect people and fashion whilst delivering strong results. You will be directly reporting into the Buying Team Lead. The Premium Fashion Accessories cluster is responsible for leading some of the most iconic and strategic brands on Zalando, with a special focus on Handbags, Eyewear, Watches and Jewellery.

WHAT WE’D LOVE YOU TO DO (AND LOVE DOING)

  • As the Senior Buyer you shape the short and long term strategy for Premium Accessories cluster, taking into account the Zalando strategy, your customer profile, trends and competitive landscape. 

  • You are fluent in commanding your KPIs and role model collaboration with the senior merchandiser, steering the seasonal budget and OTB to monitor the performance of your unit and take action accordingly

  • You will be responsible for the creative direction of your business unit on a seasonal basis; having direct ownership for top accounts in your portfolio, directing the acquisition of new brands, negotiating the best terms for Zalando and identifying all levers for growth. You will manage key strategic brands and relationships across both wholesale and platform business models

  • You will work cross functionally to drive sales and maximise profit and exchanging with other departments like Content, Logistics, Marketing and Production are key to your work, ensuring that we act in line with the whole organisation

  • You will lead, develop and nurture a high performing team of four (two Buyers, two Assistant Buyers). You display strong leadership skills and are a role model for the Zalando Founding Mindset.

WE’D LOVE TO MEET YOU IF YOU ARE

  • Experience in working for a fast paced e-commerce retailing business. Relevant Buying Experience at a similar senior level, ideally working within a multi brand environment

  • Clear knowledge and understanding of the fashion retail landscape within Europe, including platform and marketplace models

  • A strong leader who is passionate about developing people, guiding their career and acting as a role model for the wider Buying team

  • Your excellent analytical skills put you on top of the class and you love working with numbers to validate your gut instinct buying decisions and take risks to achieve your unit plan

  • Negotiation is in your blood, you have mastered both written and spoken negotiations beautifully. You display strong stakeholder and relationship management skills, both with internal and external stakeholders
