Job Description

Job Summary:

As a SFDC Business Analyst, you will be a part of the Business Application Team, working to enable Guardant to fight cancer through data. We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us in improving and enhancing our Salesforce Platform to support Guardant teams. At Guardant, we leverage the most advanced technologies and work with leaders in many different fields to create the most impactful and meaningful technologies for cancer management.  In this role, you will assist in the analysis, design, and development of Salesforce solutions to meet business requirements. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with a highly skilled team of professionals and to learn about the Salesforce ecosystem. This role follows a hybrid work schedule from our Palo Alto, CA office.

Responsibilities:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather and document business requirements, ensuring a clear understanding of needs and objectives.
  • Business Process Analysis: Conduct in-depth analysis of existing business processes and identify areas for improvement. Develop detailed process maps and recommend Salesforce solutions to optimize workflows.
  • Requirements Translation: Convert business requirements into detailed Salesforce technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for implementation by development teams.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with Technical Architects to design scalable and efficient Salesforce solutions that align with business goals.. Provide guidance on best practices for Salesforce configuration and customization.
  • Project Management: Monitor progress, manage risks, and address any issues that arise to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • User Support: Act as a subject matter expert, offering expert guidance and support to users and stakeholders. Facilitate user training and ensure effective adoption of Salesforce solutions.
  • Configuration and Customization: Design and implement custom Salesforce objects, fields, validation rules, page layouts, lightning pages, and other elements as needed. Ensure that solutions are tailored to meet specific business requirements.
  • Proof of Concept: Lead the development of Proof of Concept (POC) solutions to demonstrate the feasibility and effectiveness of proposed Salesforce features and enhancements.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and oversee the Go-Live process. Develop test plans, scripts, and execution strategies to validate that solutions meet business requirements.
  • Documentation: Create comprehensive documentation including business requirements, process flows, and user guides. Use visual aids such as flow charts and screenshots to enhance understanding.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation. Propose enhancements to Salesforce functionality that drive efficiency and support business growth.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, support, and QA, to deliver high-quality Salesforce solutions.

Qualifications

  • BS or BA Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ Years of experience in enterprise software as an analyst or product owner.
  • Salesforce Certified (Administrator, Service Cloud - required, Agenforce Specialist, Sales Cloud, Business Analyst preferred)
  • Experience with configuration and customization on the Salesforce platform
  • Proficiency with Salesforce reports and dashboards
  • Proven capability to understand business strategies and application objectives and translate those requirements into effective process designs.
  • Excellent written and visual communication skills, with the ability to clearly document requirements and process assets using text, diagrams, and videos.
  • Strong presentation skills: able to optimally present a point of view and clearly articulate the rationale to a variety of team members
  • A great listener with the ability to communicate with people in diverse roles
  • Self-directed, with the ability to break down a complex 
  • process, assign actions, and lead progress toward a deadline.
  • A resourceful and entrepreneurial thinker who can work through and solve problems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
  • Experience working with Scrum teams and Agile Methodology

Additional Information

Hybrid Work Model: At Guardant Health, we have defined days for in-person/onsite collaboration and work-from-home days for individual-focused time. All U.S. employees who live within 50 miles of a Guardant facility will be required to be onsite on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. We have found aligning our scheduled in-office days allows our teams to do the best work and creates the focused thinking time our innovative work requires. At Guardant, our work model has created flexibility for better work-life balance while keeping teams connected to advance our science for our patients.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $93,420 to $128,480. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries across all US locations for the posted role with the exception of any locations specifically referenced below (if any).

For positions based in Palo Alto, CA or Redwood City, CA, the base salary range for this full-time position is $109,900 to $151,150. The range does not include benefits, and if applicable, bonus, commission, or equity.

Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. If you are selected to move forward, the recruiting team will provide details specific to the factors above.

Employee may be required to lift routine office supplies and use office equipment. Majority of the work is performed in a desk/office environment; however, there may be exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and biohazard material in the laboratory environment. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
