Senior Business Systems Analyst
Location: Toronto
The Senior Business System Analyst is responsible for conducting systems process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analyses in order to align information technology solutions with business initiatives on projects of highly complex nature and/or business area.

- Strong ability to resolve routine/minor conflicts efficiently, and knowledge of when to escalate.
- Strong knowledge of Agile best practices and demonstrated experience leveraging them.
- Experience with production support and delivery.
- Coach, mentor, less experienced support staff as necessary.
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and technical development for self and team.
- Extensive experience providing support to clients and other departments.
- Experience in developing process improvement initiatives.
- Transform difficult and complex technical ideas and topics into clear and relevant business ideas and concepts.
- Ability to develop and prepare business analysis documentation and planning including Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Ability to write clear and concise acceptance criteria and functional elaboration specifications that map across multiple systems with a focus on underwriting documents for the customer, including brokers and agents.
- Strong understanding of Software Development Lifecycle and ITIL methodology.
- Proficient user-level knowledge of Microsoft Products (Windows XP, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project, Sharepoint), Visio, Optimal Trace, and a willingness to learn new applications.
- Strong knowledge of information systems and software in assigned Business area. (i.e. Quadient, Direct Bill System; Capri, PMS, C Base Language, TSO, Duck Creek, Workbench, Dynamics 365, etc.).
You have:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in relevant subject and/or equivalent on the job experience.
- 7-10 years’ experience as Business Systems Analyst.
- Strong knowledge in Canadian P&C insurance sector.
- CIP an asset.
