What you will do
Under minimal direction, the Sr. Business Systems Analyst connects stakeholders in our European regions with the development teams building Johnson Controls' Applied Chiller equipment selection tools. You will work independently with sales, application engineering and product teams across Europe to understand how they select and quote chillers. You will turn their needs into detailed Features, lead them through delivery, and demo them back to make sure they meet the acceptance criteria and our customers' needs. You will also lead complex projects and product launches for European markets and bring forward ideas to improve our processes and tools.
How you will do it
- Build working relationships with stakeholders across European regions, including sales, application engineering, product management and customer support.
- Run discovery sessions to understand current procedures, problems, data inputs and outputs, and reporting needs.
- Write detailed Features with clear business value, scope and acceptance criteria, ready for development teams to refine and execute.
- Capture region-specific requirements such as units, languages, local regulations and certification programs (e.g., Eurovent, EU Ecodesign) that affect how equipment is selected and documented.
- Help product management weigh European priorities against global ones, and keep stakeholders informed of decisions and trade-offs.
- Independently lead complex projects and product launches for European markets, working across teams and departments.
- Track Features through delivery and report on status, risks and dependencies.
- Use AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to synthesize stakeholder input, draft Features, and keep progress transparent to stakeholders.
- Demo completed Features with stakeholders, confirm they meet acceptance criteria, and capture feedback for the next iteration.
- Support user acceptance testing and rollout to regional users, including release notes and training material.
- Propose improvements to processes, tools and new product concepts based on European market needs.
- Partner with Sr. Business Systems Analysts, Product Owners and technical leads across our Scrum and Kanban teams, and mentor other analysts.
- Adhere to the Company's Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.
What we look for
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering or a technical field, or equivalent experience; Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred.
- 7+ years of product, business systems analysis or software development lifecycle experience, including stakeholder-facing requirements work.
- Proven experience writing Features and User Stories with acceptance criteria on Agile teams; SAFe experience preferred.
- Confidence leading stakeholder meetings and product demos, including with senior and non-technical audiences.
- Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps or a similar tool; working knowledge of SQL and advanced Excel; Power BI or similar a plus.
- Preferred: hands-on experience using AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude to drive efficiency, improve communication and transparency, and execute work.
- HVAC industry experience preferred; knowledge of European regulations and certification programs a strong plus.
- Fluency in English required; an additional European language a plus.
- Business travel of about 10%, mostly within Europe, and some working hours that overlap with US Eastern time.
- What will make you successful
- You lead stakeholders and development partners without formal authority.
- You are curious about how customers and regional teams actually work, and you ask good questions.
- You organize and track many requests and Features at once.
- You think logically and analytically, and turn messy input into clear requirements.
- You work independently, own outcomes and drive for business results.
- You communicate clearly in writing and in person
