Our Amplitel team

Amplitel, a leading provider of tower infrastructure in Australia, supports wireless communications. Telstra Group owns 51% of Amplitel, while the rest is held by a consortium including the Australian Future Fund, Commonwealth Superannuation Corporation, Australian Retirement Trust, and Morrison & Co IP.

Our team aims to grow Amplitel's value by facilitating the long-term planning process with the board, identifying new revenue opportunities and pursuing efficiency.

As a Senior Business Strategy Specialist, you will contribute to Amplitel’s long-term strategy and execution. You will utilise your analytical and communication skills to address complex business problems and facilitate decision-making on strategic priorities. Your role involves identifying and analysing market trends to solve key business issues at Amplitel. You will collaborate and build strong relationships with senior stakeholders through effective teamwork.

What You'll Do

Contribute to defining Amplitel's goals, long-term strategy, and commercial frameworks while supporting the business in exploring new growth opportunities. This role will require the use of your strategic abilities to assist the business in developing competitive strategies, creating and delivering new products, and enhancing core business capabilities. Amplitel is focused on generating shareholder value within the Australian tower industry.

This role will play a significant part in managing the Board and external investors and their contribution to setting the long-term strategy for business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in the creation of a clear aspiration, vision, and value creation strategy for Amplitel.
  • Develop the roadmap for technology/ products/ services and translate it to a clear portfolio strategy for Amplitel and provide input on decisions about future investment.
  • Provide strategic guidance and structured thinking in relation to business initiatives, challenges, and opportunities across Amplitel including assessing future commercial opportunities, M&A opportunities and revenue streams with a shareholder value lens.
  • Assess the economics of Amplitel’s business (profitability and returns) and the impact of strategic decisions on Amplitel’s value.
  • Prepare decision making materials for the Amplitel’s CEOLT and Board (e.g. papers, workshops and war games) to drive senior engagement and draw out insights to achieve Amplitel’s investors objectives.

About you

To be successful in the role, you must have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a corporate strategy role or a top advisory firm
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. commerce, business management, finance, economics, engineering or law)
  • Strong relationship management skills with ability to influence executives and stakeholders to achieve complex outcomes
  • Advanced ability to communicate effectively and confidently with stakeholders, operational staff, vendors, customers and senior management
  • Advanced problem solving and decision-making skills, supported by strong financial modelling and strategy toolkit
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects in highly complex and regulated environments
  • Ability to deliver structured thinking in a variety of contexts
  • Demonstrated commercial management and analysis
  • Ability to multitask and navigate competing priorities while proactively persuading Business Units to engage
