Business & Systems Analyst — Commercial Finance Transformation (Contract-to-Cash, ERP Migration & Platform Modernisation)

About the Role
The Business & Systems Analyst will play a central role in supporting the Contract-to-Cash (C2C) programme and wider commercial finance transformation agenda.
The role bridges business issues, process design, technology delivery and operational adoption by translating business requirements into clear outcomes, process workflows, system requirements and scalable solutions. Working closely with Finance, Operations, Technology, SAP S/4HANA, Integration and FinTech teams, the Business Systems Analyst will challenge, validate and refine proposed solutions to ensure they solve the right business problem, reduce manual touchpoints, strengthen controls and improve operational efficiency.
Beyond the Contract-to-Cash programme, the role will support broader commercial finance and business transformation initiatives aligned to the GFS roadmap. This includes ERP migrations, platform modernisation, process automation, data and reporting improvements, system integrations, operating model redesign and the migration of legacy platforms to SAP S/4HANA or other strategic technologies as business needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities
Business Problem Definition and Requirements
- Identify, structure and document business issues, operational pain points, control gaps and process inefficiencies.
- Translate business needs into business requirements, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria and success measures.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder discussions to define desired business outcomes.
- Ensure requirements are aligned to strategic, operational and financial objectives.
Process Design and Operating Model
Lead current-state and future-state process design across Contract-to-Cash and other commercial finance transformation initiatives.
Identify opportunities to simplify, standardise, automate and strengthen controls.
Define target operating models, process ownership and business handoffs.
Support process redesign associated with ERP migrations, platform replacements, automation programmes and operating model changes.
Solution Evaluation and Delivery Support
Partner with Technology, SAP S/4HANA, Integration and FinTech teams to evaluate proposed solutions.
Challenge, refine or endorse recommendations based on business requirements, user experience, controls, scalability and operational practicality.
Assess trade-offs across process design, technology capability, cost, risk and business value.
Ensure technology solutions remain aligned to agreed business outcomes.
Testing, Adoption and Change
Support test planning, test execution and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Coordinate stakeholder engagement, training and adoption activities.
Ensure delivered solutions meet agreed requirements and business objectives.
Support business readiness and transition to operational ownership.
Transformation and Platform Modernisation
Support strategic transformation initiatives including ERP migrations, platform consolidations, business process redesign and technology-enabled operating model changes.
Work with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements, assess impacts and support solution selection.
Support the migration of legacy systems to SAP S/4HANA or other future platforms as required.
Contribute to future GFS transformation programmes as priorities evolve.
Governance, Analytics and Continuous Improvement
Use data, process metrics and stakeholder feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
Maintain key project documentation including process maps, requirements, workflows and operating model artefacts.
Support programme governance, prioritisation and decision-making.
Contribute to the identification and delivery of future commercial finance transformation initiatives.
Key Competencies:
Commercial Finance and C2C Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial finance processes including contract setup, pricing and fee management, billing and invoicing, revenue recognition inputs, collections handoffs, operational controls, reporting, analytics and system integrations.
Business Analysis: Ability to translate business challenges into structured requirements, process maps, user stories, acceptance criteria and measurable outcomes.
Process Design: Ability to analyse current-state processes, identify inefficiencies and design future-state workflows that improve scalability, controls and user experience.
Solution Evaluation: Ability to challenge and assess proposed technology solutions against business requirements, operational needs, controls and business value.
Data and Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends, root causes, process bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Management: Ability to communicate and influence effectively across senior business stakeholders, technology teams and third-party delivery partners.
AI and Automation Enablement: Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation, process design, testing and decision support while maintaining appropriate governance and accountability.
Qualifications and Experience
Experience
5+ years' experience as a Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst or similar role.
Experience supporting Contract-to-Cash, Order-to-Cash, finance transformation or large-scale process improvement programmes.
Experience gathering requirements, mapping processes and supporting technology delivery.
Experience working across business, finance and technology teams.
Experience supporting ERP implementation, ERP migration, SAP S/4HANA, Oracle, Workday, Microsoft Dynamics or other enterprise platform modernisation programmes is highly desirable.
Technical Skills
Strong business analysis and process mapping capability.
Knowledge of ERP platforms, preferably SAP S/4HANA.
Understanding of integrations, APIs and enterprise systems.
Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools.
Experience with Agile delivery methodologies and tools such as Jira.
Ability to leverage AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, documentation and process design.
Preferred Qualifications
CBAP, PMI-PBA or equivalent Business Analysis certification.
Experience within professional services, financial services or commercial operations environments.
Experience with Power BI, Tableau or similar reporting tools.
Exposure to finance transformation, automation and enterprise technology modernisation initiatives.
