About Aurora Solar
Aurora is on a mission to create a future of solar for all. Our award-winning software puts the power of data and technology into the hands of every solar professional to make solar adoption simple and predictable. Our software has designed millions of solar projects so far, empowering solar companies to sell, design, and install residential and commercial solar arrays accurately, seamlessly, and at scale.
We’ve been named one of "The Best Remote Companies" by BuiltIn.com and have been recognized for the second time as a Certified Green Business (CGB) with the city of San Francisco. We’re in this together to support the world’s transition to solar.
About the Team
Our Business Operations team drives some of Aurora's most important work — the cross-functional initiatives, strategic analyses, and operational improvements that shape how our GTM engine runs and how the company makes decisions. We're a small, high-performing group that brings structure to ambiguous problems, aligns stakeholders across functions, and drives things to a conclusion rather than just framing them. We operate with direct exposure to the COO and CEO, and we take ownership seriously.
About the Role
We're seeking a Senior Business Operations Manager to join our Business Operations team, reporting to the Director of Business Operations. This is a senior individual contributor role for someone who excels at breaking down complex business challenges using first-principles thinking, executing rigorous analysis with minimal oversight, and driving high-impact initiatives from concept through implementation. You'll be a hands-on operator who pushes through ambiguity, builds credibility with senior leaders, and influences cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful business outcomes.
Your Impact
Own Aurora’s operating cadence, including annual planning, QBRs, and weekly business cadences, ensuring leadership has the right information at the right time while keeping processes efficient and actionable.
Partner across Sales, Marketing, Services, Finance, Product, and Engineering to launch new strategic initiatives and optimize operational effectiveness through process, systems, and structural changes.
Proactively identify operational bottlenecks and business opportunities, develop data-driven recommendations and lead implementation alongside cross-functional stakeholders.
Build executive-ready analysis and recommendations by synthesizing quantitative data and qualitative insights into clear, actionable narratives for the COO and CEO.
Independently analyze data, building models, and generating insights that inform strategic decisions.
Design and build lightweight internal tools, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows that automate manual processes, improve visibility, and eliminate recurring operational work.
What You Bring
4 - 6+ years of experience in management consulting, Business Operations, Strategic Operations, or a CEO/COO office, ideally at a high-growth technology company or top-tier consulting firm (MBB or Big Four).
Demonstrated experience owning initiatives end-to-end—from identifying opportunities and developing recommendations to driving implementation and measurable business outcomes.
Strong analytical mindset with experience building financial or operational models, writing queries, and using data to inform decisions.
Experience with CRM and data analytics tools (e.g., Salesforce, Looker, Tableau) is a must have
Ability to operate effectively at every level of the organization—from discussing company strategy with executives to solving detailed operational challenges alongside individual contributors.
Proven ability to influence without formal authority by building trust, aligning stakeholders, and driving cross-functional execution.
Nice to Haves
Experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or similar to improve workflows, automate processes, or build internal tools.
Strong SQL proficiency and comfort querying large datasets independently.
Experience building dashboards or lightweight automations using scripting, low-code tools, or AI-assisted development.
