The Role
This role provides strategic and operational support to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Private Markets, ensuring the smooth functioning and scalability of the business. The individual will be responsible for resolving day-to-day issues, driving process improvements, and aligning operations across asset classes within Private Markets. A key aspect of the role involves building strong relationships with central M&G functions—such as Operations, Legal, Finance, and Compliance—and influencing stakeholders to deliver cohesive and effective outcomes for the wider Private Markets team. This is a 6 Month Fixed-term contract.
Key Responsibilities
- Private Markets business coordination & Project representation
- Exec Support for Head Of Private Markets and COO for Private Markets: Coordination, Representation & Escalation Point
- Day to Day support to the Private Markets business for initiatives including Regulatory, Governance, Finance & Operations
- Oversight and improvements of key processes
- Support simplification and scalability, enable growth across private markets
- Support review and presentation of strategic plans
- Oversight & Governance of key Private Market meetings (PMLM, PMOM, LLDOM)
- Private Markets Project Representation & Coordination
- Primary Contact for Audit, Operations, Legal, Tax and Compliance
Key Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Experience in relevant related role: (e.g., Project Management, Relationship Management, Business Management, Operations , Risk & Compliance)
- A good understanding of investment products and the asset management industry. Previous experience of Private Asset classes, teams and/or products preferable. The candidate may have a consultancy background
- Clear understanding of risk and controls within the asset management industry (ideally including Private Asset classes)
- Experience of managing complicated processes with a focus on risk reduction, simplification and standardisation
- Flexible approach to work required at all levels
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels
- Numerate, logical and analytical approach
- Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent presentation skills
