Job Summary
Responsibilities
- Designs, develops, and maintains intuitive and high-quality visualizations, including reports and dashboards.
- Analyzes complex problems and identifies opportunities for technical improvement, scalability, and performance optimization across systems.
- Reviews and tests code to ensure compliance with established standards, best practices, and quality expectations.
- Profiles data and documents data objects, business rules, and key assumptions or limitations.
- Performs and documents data analysis, validation, and data mapping/design to ensure accuracy and usability.
- Collaborates with IT teams and business stakeholders to support the development of data-driven strategies and decisions across the organization.
- Supports the development of an integrated reporting and analytics environment, leveraging enterprise BI tools and platforms effectively.
- Participates in requirements gathering and analysis to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Translates business requirements into clear scope and design documentation for development and delivery.
- Partners with users to ensure deliverables meet or exceed expectations and align with business objectives.
- Provides production support and troubleshooting for enterprise reporting, analytics, semantic model, and data integration solutions.
- Collaborates with platform administrators and security teams to implement appropriate data security and access controls.
- Troubleshoots, optimizes, and tunes BI and analytic applications to maintain performance and reliability.
- Provides guidance and knowledge transfer to business users and analysts regarding enterprise reporting, analytics solutions, and self-service BI capabilities.
- Participates in testing, deployment, and release management activities supporting reporting, analytics, and data platform enhancements.
- Contributes to the development, documentation, and enforcement of BI and analytics standards, policies, and procedures.
- Addresses challenges related to the implementation and interpretation of BI standards and practices.
- Leads requirements analysis, translating requirements into a scope document and developing reporting deliverables based on the design.
- Works with users to ensure deliverables are meeting or exceeding expectations. Provides support and communicates issues to users as defined by IT standards. Monitors access control and troubleshoot BI and analytic applications.
- Performs other related work as needed.

Education:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in a related field such as information technology, computer science, or data analytics.
Technical Skills or Knowledge:
- Progressively responsible experience in Business Intelligence (BI) development, analytics platforms, and cloud-based data solutions.
- Proven experience designing and developing enterprise reporting, dashboarding, and analytics solutions utilizing tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Advanced hands-on expertise with Power BI including semantic modeling, DAX development, dashboard design, security implementation, and performance optimization.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL, to profile data, perform data analysis, and troubleshoot issues effectively.
- Demonstrated application development experience with a primary focus on BI tools, while maintaining the ability to adapt to additional platforms as needed.
- Familiarity working within an ITIL framework, including incident, service request, problem, and change management processes and procedures.
- Strong understanding and practical experience with formal software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies and project management practices.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and ad hoc tasks.
- Understanding of modern cloud analytics platforms, preferably Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, or similar technologies.
Preferred Competencies
- Familiarity with higher education administrative systems, data structures, and business processes.
- Lead and execute all phases of application development, including requirements gathering, analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies, to contribute effectively within structured project environments.
- Working knowledge of data governance, metadata management, data lineage, and data quality best practices.
Working Conditions
- This position is currently expected to work a minimum three days per week in the office.
