Job Overview Summary 

The Senior Business Development Manager (SBDM) is tasked with identifying and pursuing strategic business opportunities, partnerships, and new markets within the security industry. This role involves developing key relationships, creating business proposals, and executing strategies to expand the company’s reach and revenue. The SBDM is instrumental in positioning the company as a leader in the security space and driving sustainable growth.

What you’ll be doing (and doing well!):

Strategic Opportunity Identification

  • Research and identify new business opportunities, including partnerships, markets, and product expansion.
  • Evaluate potential business avenues and create plans to target high-impact opportunities.

Relationship Development

  • Build and nurture relationships with prospective clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for high-level client engagements and partnerships.

Proposal & Deal Management

  • Develop tailored proposals, negotiate contracts, and close deals with major clients.
  • Ensure all business development activities are compliant with company policies and contribute to revenue goals.

Market Research & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct research on market trends, competitor offerings, and customer needs to identify value propositions.
  • Use insights to adapt business strategies and stay ahead of market changes.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with product, marketing, and sales teams to align business development strategies.
  • Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure alignment on contracts, budgets, and other business aspects.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting

  • Track and report on the success of business development initiatives and partnerships.
  • Use data and feedback to refine strategies and improve results over time.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Business Development Expertise

Negotiation & Communication

  • Exceptional negotiation skills and a persuasive communication style.

  • Familiarity with security industry trends, competitor activity, and customer needs.
  • Adaptable in a dynamic environment with evolving business goals.

Educational Background

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (preferred); MBA or other advanced degrees are a plus.

Pay Transparency Statement

The base salary range for this role is $88,700 - $187,300. Note that salary may vary based on location, skills, and experience and may vary from the amounts listed above. This position may also be eligible for a variable bonus or commission in addition to base salary as well as health coverage, paid holidays, and other benefits.
