The (Senior) Manager, Business Development for the EU recruits customers and drives sales growth of products and services. The (Senior) Manager, Business Development will have an additional focus on penetrating customers with research bases in Israel and Eastern Europe, or as assigned by management. Reporting to the N. Europe/UK Business Leader in RCS, the role closes and implements growth opportunities with companies in Israel / Eastern Europe. The BD is responsible for achieving an assigned PO goal.
This role is remote / work from home preferably in Eastern Europe.
The title will be either Senior Business Development Manager or Business Development Manager, depending on a candidate's experience level.
ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities
- Acquires new customers from an assigned geography, and/or a set of prospects.
- Leads all aspects of specific companies and/or territory account integration processes, while calling upon other company sales resources to assist in solution development, proposal delivery, and implementation, as needed or as directed by management.
- Assists in achieving full integration of key account procurement systems with the platform.
- Sells company products and services to assigned opportunities.
- Refers opportunities for growth in products and services to other sales resources as appropriate.
- Manages new customers’ implementation resources by managing customers’ expectations and satisfaction with the implementation process.
- Assist other sales and services resources when called upon by the WuXi Chemistry Business Development leadership team.
- Works collaboratively with other functions such as the marketing team to support the business needs and achieve company goals.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures

- Achieves assigned supplier and customer onboarding goals
- Meets assigned expectations for customer coverage
- Achieves new account acquisition targets
- Completes required training and development objectives within the assigned time frame
Experience / Education:
- University degree or equivalent, chemistry preferred, from an accredited institution, advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of outside sales experience in the pharmaceutical/drug discovery/fine chemicals industry
- Prior experience in drug discovery industry (sales or scientific) is required.
- Prior track record of achievement in positions with significant accountability
- This position will require frequent travel (car, train, plane)
- Candidates must have a valid driver’s license and passport and have the right to work in mainland Europe
- PC proficiency

- Able to close deals, effectively utilizing internal resources as required.

- Coordinates with other BDs or scientific counterparts to provide appropriate solutions to clients.
