We are seeking a talented individual to join our Business Development team at Marsh. This role will be based in Melbourne, Victoria. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. The Senior Business Development Manager plays a key role in driving the company’s growth by researching demand trends, identifying prospects, and executing plans to acquire new clients. You will lead by example, connecting internal clients, practitioners, and external prospects to maximise business opportunities across the people risk division.

We will count on you to:
- Control mid-large market research efforts aligned with internal priorities to discover new business people risk opportunities
- Develop an initial sales strategy to provide direction on how new business targets can be achieved in Yr 1 and beyond
- Curate and delegate prospect and product sales target lists to prioritise potential accounts based on team capabilities
- Counsel non-sales team members in identifying, marketing, selling, and closing business deals
- Connect with business unit leaders to explore innovative ways of cross-selling and bringing value to our clients
- Conduct frequent sales calls and presentations to meet target sales numbers and close high-risk, high-yield accounts

- Maintain a high level of diligence on the record keeping of opportunities in our CRM system along with development of your individual pipeline
- Assist with recruitment efforts for your team by screening candidates and selecting final hires

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build credibility and influence internal and external decision makers

- Ability to manage and prioritise your time across multiple accounts and research efforts effectively
- Demonstrated capability in working with Senior Leaders across business segments
