We’re looking for a hands-on and entrepreneurial Senior Business Development Manager, who is passionate about the Wise mission – money without borders. You’ll be a part of the Wise Platform team, helping deliver world class payment service solutions to our partners and their customers, powered by the Wise infrastructure.

Banks, Fintechs and large enterprises use Wise Platform to build crossborder money movement solutions including Google, Up!, Agoda, Tigerborkers and others. Today we have 80+ global banks and platforms connected and powered by Wise Platform. We’re looking for a sales leader with a track record of experience working with Financial institutions and commercialising payment solutions in ANZ. ANZ is a key region and this role will be responsible for continuing to deepen our footprint in ANZ with some of the largest Financial institutions and enterprises. 

Job Description

A bit about the role:

The role is based in our Sydney office, but you will also work closely with the Regional APAC and Global Wise Platform teams based in our offices around the world. You will work closely with other functions, including product management, compliance & legal, implementation and engineering. As the Senior Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for independently sourcing and winning high impact deals with a focus on large banks and enterprises.

Your mission: 

  • Work with the Wise Platform team to build, close and grow a strong pipeline of financial institutions and enterprises across our target verticals in ANZ, driving revenue and volume growth for Wise.

  • Be the business counterpart for product teams to unlock new verticals and flows in ANZ through understanding painpoints, sizing opportunity and understanding regulatory / compliance nuances.

  • Work on projects and initiatives to improve our sales processes and approaches both within the APAC region and globally, such as helping iterate our pitches and messaging, our pricing strategies, go to market efforts - or anything else that helps drive growth.

Qualifications

A bit about you

  • You’ve sold cross-border payment solutions into banks or large enterprises; from sourcing to go-live with demonstrable examples

  • You’ve held commercial targets in past sales roles

  • You’re comfortable across different sales stages and can independently source deals to create a healthy sales pipeline

  • You’re comfortable technically, helping clients solution across regulatory, compliance and fund-flow requirements to enable a use-case

  • You’re hands on - happy to lead your own discussions as well as supporting our business development team with their pipelines

  • You’re collaborative - and have worked across functional teams to unlock new verticals, new use-cases and new revenue opportunities

  • You’re analytical - data driven on where the team should be spending time and on scoping, sizing, prioritising and driving opportunities

  • You are mission-driven and customer-focused - looking for synergistic partnerships that will benefit the customer and contribute to the Wise Mission
