Senior Business consultant– Operations

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US  

At SimCorp, we facilitate the streamlining of investment decisions, accounting, and operations for major global financial institutions. We do this through IT systems, processes, and financial knowledge. Implementing our software by way of high-quality projects is at the core of what we do. To introduce our software to our clients, and deliver the outcomes they will adopt, business consultants are essential to us.    

In the role of Senior Business Consultant specializing in Operations (IBOR), your participation will be instrumental in the expansion of our market unit in a strategic vertical, for SimCorp. We are outcome based driven with the objective to deliver high quality to our customers.    

You will normally be working full-time on implementation projects, which require your expertise in the Operations (IBOR) area. You will manage specific work streams of the project plan, with direct engagement with our clients' end users from designing solutions to delivering outcomes for their final adoption.  

You will act as an important sparring partner for SimCorp clients and monitor, coordinate, and escalate issues as needed with projects stakeholders 

 

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

  • You will take over a range of tasks in a project team. Your main mission is to advise and assist clients with using SimCorp Dimension in their daily operational work. You act as a facilitator between financial institution end-users and their new financial system, dealing with their specific business requirements and covering the complete value chain of asset management.   

  • You conduct workshops to explore client requirements working with clients and SimCorp’s team to ensure capture, define and propose the most adapted solution; 

  • You build, deliver and test configuration work in aspects of SimCorp Dimension based on client requirements (mainly but not exclusively in Trade processing, settlement, swift messages, reconciliation, valuation, collateral management, corporate action processing) 

  • You advise on process improvements through better use of Simcorp Dimension and contribute to improving and documenting best practices for implementations. 

  • You follow the budget of your stream and coordinate the team you work with. 

  • You constantly expand your knowledge of SimCorp Dimension and the client's business in order to ensure that clients get the optimal value/ outcome out of their Simcorp Dimension usage 

  • You regularly participate in know-how exchange with colleagues on an international level 

 

WHAT WE VALUE  

Most importantly, you can see yourself contributing and thriving in the abovementioned position. How you gained the skills needed for doing that is less important. We expect you to be good at several of the following and able to—and interested in—learning the rest.  

  • You like to deep dive into business processes in investment management and take pride in modelling them in our software. You have in-depth knowledge about the business at asset managers, fund managers, insurers or banks.  

In addition you bring with you: 

  • Degree in economics, (economic) mathematics/computer science or similar qualification 

  • Work experience as a Business Analyst or Consultant from asset managers, asset servicers, insurance or consulting firms (2 years minimum) 

  • You are familiar in at least four of the following areas: trade processing (including settlement), cash management, swift messages, reconciliation, corporate action processing, valuation of financial instruments from the banking, asset management and/or insurance environment 

  • You are familiar with the implementation of software like SimCorp Dimension 

  • Collaborative-minded and methodical way of working 

  • An inclination for teamwork and a talent to share your knowledge 

  • Effective communication and consulting skills and a high degree of commercial awareness, customer orientation and quality consciousness 

  • Fluency in English, Spanish and French, other languages is beneficial (Italian, German...)  

  • Willingness to travel
