Position Summary:

Hillwood is seeking an experienced Senior Business and Quality Analyst to join our centralized Information Technology (IT) Applications team in Dallas, Texas. This role will focus on enterprise-grade application maintenance, development, and process improvement while serving as a functional lead for key IT systems. The Analyst will work cross-functionally across the organization, partnering with Technology and business stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives, provide application support, and deliver high-quality customer service. They will also play a key role in quality assurance, ensuring testing standards are met throughout the software development lifecycle and optimizing internal processes to enhance efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and problem solver with a track record of developing innovative solutions to support business operations.

Responsibilities

Business Processes and Requirements Definition:

  • Lead planning, gathering, analysis, and documentation of user and functional requirements for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements.

Lead Systems Design, Configuration, and Product Support:

  • Oversee technology integration into business operations, ensuring applications enhance operational efficiency and performance.
  • Manage third-party integrations and maintain data integrity and system reliability.
  • Collaborate with application consultants and subject matter experts to optimize application functionality and usability.
  • Partner with all Hillwood divisions and functional departments to define business needs and foster strong communication and collaboration with division associates.

Drive Project Analysis and Execution:

  • Analyze, design, and assist with writing Project Charter and Project Plan as well as functional specifications based on business requirements.
  • Work with process managers, service managers, project managers, analysts, engineers, and architects to develop solutions and resolve business challenges.
  • Manage project timelines, prioritize workload, and effectively communicate project status, outcomes, and risks.

Functional Systems and Business Process Expertise: 

  • Provide day-to-day resolutions for business, system, and user issues.
  • Provide training and technical support to users and deploy new systems and enhancements.

Quality Assurance (QA) Duties:

QA Program Leadership: 

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure software quality from design through release.
  • Utilize automated testing tools and techniques to optimize testing efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards throughout the development lifecycle.

System Testing and End-User Adoption:

  • Conduct functional, regression, and performance testing to validate software solutions meet business requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track software defects while driving timely resolution and verifying fixes.
  • Create end-user support documentation to support the adoption of new software features and functionalities.
  • Perform root cause analysis on defects and recommend process improvements.

Quality Assurance Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Develop and maintain quality metrics, dashboards, and reports to communicate testing progress and quality status to business stakeholders.
  • Implement and monitor continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes for consistent software quality.
  • Ensure adherence to industry best practices and company standards for software quality assurance.

Process Improvement and Innovation:

  • Identify opportunities for improvement to enhance QA processes and recommend innovative solutions.
  • Stay informed about new developments in quality assurance methodologies and tools, implementing best practices into the QA program.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Working knowledge of IT best practices, methodologies, and frameworks (e.g., ITIL, CMM, Agile, Scrum, DevOps).
  • Deep understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and automation tools across various platforms (e.g., mobile, web, COTS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess business processes and identify technology-driven improvements.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with experience adhering to Agile, Scrum, and DevOps best practices.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize workload, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, ensuring system integrity and compliance.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and levels of the organization.

  • Ability to train and support end users, facilitating adoption of new systems and enhancements. 

Education and Experience Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience supporting and maintaining enterprise applications (ERPs, Financial Planning & Analysis systems, CRMs, RPA tools, custom applications).
  • 3+ years of experience implementing large-scale software solutions using Agile or Waterfall methodologies in complex environments.
  • Software implementation experience, including business requirements gathering, fit-gap analysis, system configuration, data validation, regression testing, and user training.
  • Familiarity with SQL is strongly preferred.
