The Role

LGT Wealth Management UK LLP is a UK-based partnership, wholly owned by the private banking group LGT, which is in turn owned by the Princely Family of Liechtenstein. Job Description

Business Unit

The Change Team are responsible for all Change across the Business to ensure that we deliver against the long-term business strategy and we play a pivotal role in bringing technology and the business together.

The team are responsible for driving innovation, engaging with all business units to ensure we continue to challenge and improve our processes, systems, products and services to ensure we are positioned to meet the future expectations of our clients and support the growth of the business. 

The team are responsible for Change Management, Project Delivery and Project Governance.

Brief Role Objective

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Business Analyst to join us as we build out our capability in the Change Team as a strategic asset to LGT WM.  Following a review of our Business and Technology Strategy, alongside a busy Change Portfolio with projects ranging from new system implementations to regulatory change, we are also undertaking a digital transformation programme which includes significant change to our technology platforms as well as business adoption of new processes and systems.

As a Business Analyst within the Change Team, the individual will report to the team’s Lead Business Analyst.  The Change function sits across the business supporting all projects. The role requires an excellent candidate who can both roll up their sleeves to get involved with the detail whilst leveraging their expertise to help continue driving us to deliver Change to a higher standard. The candidate should draw on their previous experience to demonstrate what “good” Business Analyst outcomes and deliverables look like and help evolve standards and working practices.

To succeed in this role the individual must be able to.

  • Demonstrate pragmatic, hands-on Business Analyst abilities, applying rigor to the delivery process whilst being able to respond to a rapidly changing environment. Perhaps most crucially, the candidate must have the drive and ability to constantly improve the way we understand and run activites and act as an advocate for the delivery function across the company, being an integral part of the Team’s future success.
  • Contribute to strategic decision-making and support Business Case development.
  • Demonstrate the ability to switch between strategic-level thinking when working on large-scale, complex initiatives involving multiple partners versus a far more granular approach when working on smaller, tactical projects or initiatives.
  • Take a risk-based approach – using Change Management experience to prioritise areas that are most important whilst compromising where appropriate.
  • Face off to both business and technology stakeholders.
  • Apply an organised, proactive approach to your work.
  • Ensure they add value to the team and actively develop their business knowledge and awareness.
  • Understand wider business needs and viewpoints when dealing with stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and optimization, leveraging expertise to recommend solutions.

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Work on a range of projects, from large-scale, complex initiatives involving multiple partners to smaller, tactical deliveries.
  • Capture, define, prioritise, document and explain business requirements based on project or business objectives and outcomes.
  • Translate user requirements into recognised documentation formats, including specifications, user stories, and workflows, and secure stakeholder sign-off.
  • Coordinate and prioritise features, prepare user stories, and define deliverables for releases and sprints.
  • Work with development teams to ensure business requirements are successfully translated into technical requirements.
  • Work in alignment with testing colleagues to define test scope and strategy and support with test execution where required.
  • Analyse complex business processes and suggest alternative solutions and innovative approaches.
  • Assess the feasibility of solutions and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure what’s proposed meets business needs.
  • Carry out data analysis by identifying sources, gap analysis, requirements for migration and integration to new or existing systems.
  • Drive evaluation of complex workflows and processes through advanced visualization and stakeholder communication, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and compliance or regulatory standards.
  • Build and maintain a good working relationship with business representatives, working across teams and multiple sites.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings and workshops and confidently present to key stakeholders.
  • Support any technical integrations and liaise with third party providers where applicable.
  • Identify operational impacts and support operational readiness activities to ensure change is embedded successfully.
  • Work effectively and self-sufficiently in a fast-changing working environment.
  • Adhere to all Information Security Policies.
  • Complete other duties as directed by the Lead Business Analyst.

Requirements

Key Skills, Experience, and Competency Requirements:

Essential

  • Experience as a Business Analyst in a regulated environment (banking, financial services, wealth management).
  • Proven ability to facilitate stakeholders in drawing out clear, focused, and unambiguous requirements.
  • Proficiency in visualisation tools such as Visio, Draw.io, Miro to document business processes and client journeys.
  • Ability to support business case development and perform cost-benefit analysis.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to understand problems and express the complexity of them in clear terms to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery teams using Scrum or Kanban, including participation in different Scrum ceremonies.
  • Working knowledge of Jira and Confluence.
  • Ability to deliver quality whilst remaining focused and organized in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong planning and organisation skills.
  • Strong sense of ownership and ability to follow tasks through to completion.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take the initiative, be assertive and think strategically.

Desired

  • Business Analysis qualification (BCS, IIBA, ISEB, CBAP).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory and reporting requirement.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle.
  • Proven stakeholder management experience and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Naturally curious with the desire to constantly improve the status quo.
