About the role   

As a Product Owner, you will be responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the development team through clear prioritization and definition of product features and requirements. You’ll work closely with stakeholders, customers, and cross-functional teams to define the product vision, manage the product backlog, and ensure successful product delivery that aligns with business goals. 

Your role is pivotal in connecting business needs with technical implementation, acting as the voice of the customer, and ensuring the team builds the right product at the right time. 

Key accountabilities   

Performance and progress in the following areas will be the priorities for this position: 

  • Establish strong working relationships with customer stakeholders.  
  • Define and communicate a clear product vision aligned with business objectives and customer needs. 
  • Build, own, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring it is well-defined, prioritized, and transparent. 
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather, understand, and prioritize product requirements. 
  • Translate high-level requirements into actionable user stories with clear acceptance criteria. 
  • Work with the development team to ensure timely delivery of high-value features and improvements. 
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects, UX/UI designers, and QA teams throughout the development lifecycle. 
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, reviews, and retrospectives. 
  • Make informed decisions on trade-offs between scope, budget, and timeline. 
  • Monitor product performance, collect feedback, and iterate based on data and user insights. 
  • Act as the primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders regarding product features and roadmap progress. 

  
Qualification, experience and skills   

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Requirements Engineer, Business Analyst or Product Owner.   
  • Familiarity with modern requirements gathering and documentation tools with advanced skills in Confluence, Jira or Azure DevOps.   
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.   
  • Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies, particularly Agile/Scrum.   
  • A proactive approach with a strong sense of ownership to drive responsibilities forward and the ability to work with minimal supervision.   
  • Familiarity with change management processes to facilitate smooth transitions during project implementations.   
  • Strong customer service focus.
