Job Title
Senior Business AnalystAbout your role:
This is a leadership role that demands deep payments domain expertise, exceptional client-facing skills, the ability to navigate ambiguity in complex programmes, and a track record of leading analysis workstreams in large-scale regulated environments.
The ideal candidate will bring strong consultative skills honed through direct client engagement, the confidence to shape solutions where requirements are unclear or evolving, and the ability to mentor and lead other analysts. They will also demonstrate the practical application of AI in business analysis, including the use of AI-enabled tools to accelerate requirements gathering, improve documentation quality, automate analysis tasks, and enhance traceability and validation.
What you’ll do:
Leadership & Client Engagement
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior client stakeholders, building and maintaining strong relationships at Director and VP level.
- Lead and mentor a team of business analysts, setting standards for quality, consistency, and delivery.
- Own the analysis workstream end-to-end, taking accountability for scope, quality, and timely delivery of all BA outputs.
- Represent the programme in client-facing governance forums, steering committees, and executive reviews.
- Navigate ambiguity confidently — proactively clarifying scope, surfacing assumptions, and driving decisions where requirements are incomplete or conflicting.
- Influence and negotiate with stakeholders across organisational boundaries to align priorities and resolve competing demands.
- Coach junior analysts in structured thinking, stakeholder management, and payments domain knowledge.
Requirements Gathering & Business Analysis
- Lead discovery workshops with business stakeholders, technology teams, and external partners to elicit, analyse, document, and validate business and functional requirements.
- Analyse existing credit card issuing and processing workflows, identify gaps, and define future-state requirements aligned to migration objectives.
- Decompose complex, ambiguous business problems into structured, actionable requirements — even where source documentation is limited or stakeholder views conflict.
- Leverage AI-assisted tools to accelerate requirements discovery and summarisation, improve consistency and quality of requirement definitions, and support impact analysis and dependency identification.
- Ensure requirements are clear, testable, traceable, and aligned with business outcomes.
- Proactively identify risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies (RAID) and escalate appropriately.
Migration Analysis & Planning
- Lead the design and execution of credit card platform migration strategies, ensuring minimal customer and operational disruption.
- Define and validate data mapping, transformation rules, reconciliation requirements, and cutover dependencies.
- Drive planning and validation of parallel runs, rehearsals, and migration checkpoints, with a focus on data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Anticipate downstream impacts and dependencies across multiple workstreams, proactively managing cross-functional alignment.
Process & Functional Documentation
- Produce and own high-quality business process models, functional specifications, migration artefacts, and data definitions.
- Maintain end-to-end requirements traceability from business need through design, build, and test.
- Use AI-enabled documentation tools to improve accuracy and completeness, reduce manual effort, and identify inconsistencies or gaps across requirement sets.
- Establish documentation standards and templates for the BA team.
Testing, Validation & Readiness
- Define UAT strategy and acceptance criteria in collaboration with client and delivery teams.
- Oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and system integration testing activities related to migrated functionality.
- Validate migrated data, business rules, and processing outcomes against defined requirements.
- Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and operational readiness standards.
Stakeholder & Delivery Collaboration
- Act as the primary liaison between business units, technology teams, delivery partners, and vendors.
- Drive project leadership with status reporting, impact assessments, risk identification, and decision papers.
- Contribute to governance forums and working sessions with clear, data-driven insights and recommendations.
- Build consensus across diverse stakeholder groups, managing expectations and resolving conflict constructively.
Experience you’ll need to have:
- Experience leading and mentoring BA teams (3+ analysts) on complex programmes.
- Deep understanding of credit card issuing, processing platforms, and payment ecosystems (8+ years in payments or financial services).
- Strong hands-on experience with VisionPLUS / FirstVision platforms for credit and debit card management.
- Experience with leading card processing platforms (FirstVision, CMS, TSYS, etc.).
- Knowledge of ISO 8583 messaging, APIs, and service-based integrations in card processing.
- Experience with BPM/process modelling tools (e.g., Visio, Miro, Lucidchart).
- Familiarity with data analysis tools (SQL, Excel advanced, Power BI).
- Multiple platform migration or major transformation programmes within payments or financial services.
- Working knowledge of payments regulatory requirements, including PCI DSS, PSD2, and local regulations.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Professional certifications (e.g., CBAP, PMP, payments-specific certifications) are highly desirable.
Salary starting at €77,670 - negotiable depending on experience
