Position Purpose:

The Sr. Analyst, MET Strategic Initiatives will be responsible for managing multiple programs and projects in support of the Merchandise Execution Teams (MET). The projects encompass developing business process initiatives that drive value to The Home Depot.
Responsibilities include the creation of business cases, process flows and project plans. The ability to manage the creation of new business models, performance analysis, and business process validation while following up on third party relationships, leading project teams, working with suppliers on new programs, assessing costs and benefits. Provide advanced skills in the creating project plans and event calendars, managing project risk factors, and identifying trends in business and retail industry as well as cross functional calibrations. Exhibit strong leadership, project and client management, and leadership skills while managing process flow and obtaining success for MET Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 35% Manage third party relationships in introduction of new value added services. Analyze key metrics to evaluate program success. Produce updates and deliverables on success and/or opportunities. Present findings to large parties and the ability to provide clear communication for all levels and audiences.
  • 25% Provide overall support for multiple concurrent projects, on-time and on budget. Manage assigned projects within the scope/prioritization of overall team project portfolio.
  • 15% Develop comprehensive and effective plans for controlling the project scope, schedule and cost baseline, and monitor the project execution to ensure that the plan in being followed. Communicate deliverables and challenges.
  • 15% Establish strong relationships with MET field teams, suppliers and Store Support Center resources to deliver the required projects and integrate them into ongoing operations.
  • 10% Lead project risk definition and determine mitigation approaches. Monitor project activities for the occurrence of risk and take timely action to mitigate risk.

  • This position reports to the Sr. Manager.

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel 5% to 20% of the time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Project Management programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of work experience managing multiple complex projects
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills
  • Strong multi-program management skills with experience in organizing, prioritizing, planning, and executing multiple high visibility, large scale programs with suppliers from definition through implementation and deployment
  • Must exhibit the ability to balance multiple initiatives in parallel and function in an autonomous manner in a rapidly changing environment

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
