Rest’s Data, Technology and Delivery (DTD) business unit is accountable for planning and preparing the organisation for the future through strategic technology innovation, while also charting business strategy and executing for today and tomorrow.
Situated in the Business Analysis Practice, this Senior Business Analyst role has two clear priorities.
You will support the Product Owner, Business Owner and Sponsors to ensure business needs and solution options are understood.
You will ensure the product, platform, or project team has a shared understanding of requirements through clear written and verbal communication.

What you will do
- Deliver clearly defined requirements and user stories that accurately capture business systems, processes, and user needs, using strong analysis, validation, and mapping techniques.
- Engage, negotiate and prioritise stakeholder requirements to drive alignment and support sound decision-making.
- Create actionable, visually driven models and documentation (including process mapping and story mapping) that translate complex flows into clear business rules.
- Manage a dynamic requirements lifecycle, prioritising critical functionality based on complexity, feasibility, and business value.
- Maintain strong, practical communication with Engineers, Testers, Change Managers, and external partners so delivery teams understand the “why” and the “what”.
- Proactively identify risks and issues, and partner with the Project Manager to propose mitigations aligned to established risk frameworks.
Domain experience (important for success in this role)
We are particularly interested in candidates who can bring investment and regulatory domain depth, including:
- Ability to interpret regulatory obligations and translate them into end-to-end investment processes, controls, and high quality requirements documentation.
- Good understanding of the OTC derivatives lifecycle (trade capture, confirmations, clearing, settlement, collateral management, valuations, and lifecycle processing across Rates, FX, Credit, and other derivative products).
- Demonstrated experience supporting or delivering ASIC Derivative Transaction Reporting (DTR) (or equivalent), including UTI and UPI management, reconciliations, exception handling, and supporting control frameworks.
- Understanding of superannuation investment operating models, including investment structures, governance frameworks, and key internal and external stakeholders.
- Exposure to front and middle office investment systems. Experience with platforms such as Charles River, BlackRock Aladdin, SimCorp Dimension or Rimes Matrix is advantageous but not essential.
- Bachelor's degree
- IIBA® or similar industry standard certification preferred.
Required experience, understanding or credentials including: - Business domain knowledge in superannuation or financial services desirable
- Ability to understand business functionality, business complexity and interdependencies
- Ability to develop compelling business cases with accurate cost and effort estimations
- Highly developed strategic, analytical, problem solving, issues management and evaluation skills to deliver innovative solutions
- Understanding of modelling techniques, such as business process models and notation (BPMN), data flow diagrams and unified modelling language (UML®), SIPOC and value stream analysis etc Demonstrated experience in writing user stories and acceptance criteria
