As a Senior Business Analyst within the Insurance Policy module, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the internal user experience and enabling efficient sales and servicing processes. This role is instrumental in supporting the modernization and optimization of our policy administration capabilities, including product configuration, underwriting rules and end-to-end task workflows.  You’ll work closely with module owners, internal stakeholders, and technical product teams to gather, analyze, and document business requirements, with a primary focus on internal-facing sale and servicing tools, product offering management, and underwriting automation.  The goal is to ensure that policy functionality supports business objectives, regulatory requirements, and provides a streamlined experience for internal users across sales, service and underwriting.

What you’ll do

  • Partner with the Module Owner and stakeholders across Internal Sales, Underwriting, Customer Service, and Product to understand business goals, user needs, and technical constraints related to the Insurance Policy module.

  • Lead the elicitation and documentation of business requirements focused on policy sales, servicing workflows, and product rules configuration (including coverages, limits, endorsements, eligibility, and underwriting logic).

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications, process flows, and user stories to support IT development teams.

  • Analyze and optimize internal user workflows related to quote, bind, policy changes, renewals, and cancellations to reduce manual effort and increase efficiency.

  • Work closely with Underwriting and Product teams to define and manage rules logic and automation criteria for policy issuance and servicing.

  • Collaborate with developers and QA teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements and participate in UAT to validate business functionality.

  • Document and maintain a comprehensive record of requirements, change logs, process documentation, and decision rationale.

  • Support root cause analysis of production issues and assist in solution identification through historical requirement analysis.

  • Ensure compliance with insurance regulatory requirements and adherence to internal governance and data standards.

  • Monitor trends in policy administration and contribute to continuous improvement of systems and processes aligned with business strategy.

This might describe you

  • Strong experience as a Business Analyst, preferably within the insurance industry and policy administration domain.

  • Strong knowledge of the personal auto insurance policy lifecycle, including quoting, binding, servicing, endorsements, and renewals.

  • Experience with configuring or supporting policy administration platforms (e.g., Duck Creek Policy, Guidewire PolicyCenter, or similar).

  • Familiarity with insurance product structures, rating logic, underwriting rules, and servicing workflows.

  • Prior experience supporting large-scale policy or core systems modernization efforts within a structured agile workstream.

  • Experience with Agile tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), Jira, or Rally.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels, including business SMEs, product owners, and developers.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a detail-oriented approach to documentation and solution design.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with evolving priorities and complex dependencies.

  • This role can be worked from any U.S. remote location

  • May require travel for quarterly events.

  • Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable. For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations. Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable.
