We are looking for a senior and experienced Business Analyst for an ASAP start contract (FTC) role in Sydney, NSW.  Please note - this is a Business Process role not a Technical BA role. 

The Senior Business Analyst will play a key role in the successful delivery of this large scale IT Transformation by leading and facilitating the analysis of complex business problems and/or opportunities. The Senior Business Analyst will justify the need for change and recommend solutions that enable the organisation to achieve targeted business outcomes and deliver business value.

Job Description

  • Lead the definition and elicitation of requirements and design of new or re-engineered business processes to meet the needs of the organisation through effective engagement of business partners, stakeholders and team members, by conducting interviews, workshops and surveys to gather these requirements. 

  • Manage and/or develop detailed Business Process Specifications, Business Requirements and System Functional/Non Functional Specifications that will drive the desired change to business process, system, enhancement/development activities; in accordance with the Business Analysis process framework.

  • Ensure that the recommended solution is aligned to the targeted business outcomes – this includes use of subjective & objective data that is factual and performance based.

  • Contribute to business case preparation, specifically analysis of benefits of proposed solution to deliver ‘desired business outcome’ and associated project costs. Construct the benefits model of the business case.

  • Develop and maintain appropriately detailed business analysis artefacts and deliverables throughout the lifecycle of a project, ensuring they meet the agreed quality standards and fulfil the project reporting needs to support effective governance and audit requirements.

  • Demonstrate ownership through the proactive identification, analysis and remediation of issues that prevent project outputs or business outcomes from being met.

  • Share knowledge and learnings with the Business Analysis community to grow capability within the organisation. Train and coach Business Analysts on project teams.

  • Support Testing, Training and Implementation activities to ensure the successful delivery of the overall business and technology solutions. 

  • Contribute to the cultivation of a strong commitment to excellent customer and service delivery.

  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Prior experience in a Service Transition or working on Target Operating Model would be highly desirable but is not essential.  

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Proven experience (5 years+) as a Senior Business Analyst, preferably within large scale transformation programs.

  • Knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., PMBOK, Agile).

  • Business Analysis Certification - CBAP certification or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques (e.g. JIRA, Confluence).

  • Strong ITIL knowledge and experience. 

  • Excellent communication, time management, and organisational skills.

  • Ability to work well in a team environment and collaborate effectively with others.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Desirable:

  • Relevant business and/or technology tertiary qualifications. 

  • Retail and/or FMCG experience.

  • Lean Six Sigma - Green Belt Certification or equivalent.

  • Experience working on Divestment, Transformation, Service Transition or Target Operating Model
