Senior Business Aligned Finance Analyst position within Branch Banking Finance supporting Regional Executives within the Branch Banking network. The Senior Finance Analyst is part of the broader Region Finance Support team that provides trusted advice and strategic guidance to Regional Branch Banking Executives, Directors and peer support groups.
The Senior Business Aligned Finance Analyst will have the following responsibilities:
- Support Regional Bank Directors to drive business growth by connecting key drivers to financial outcomes with the identification of risk/opportunity and best-in-class practices that can be leveraged across the business
- Analyze financial and performance metrics, prepare routine and ad-hoc presentations, understand key drivers of results and prepare commentary on a variety of business metrics for Executive Leaders
- Collaborate with leadership and cross-functional teams to enhance operating models, drive business initiatives, and perform key data analysis
- Partner with Field Leaders, Recruiting, and HR to monitor and manage Branch staffing. Lead implementation of Staffing Model, optimize workforce strategies, streamline processes, and participate in future development
- Actively engage with team members and key stakeholders to look for ways to continually simplify, improve and develop existing business processes and controls
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management, supporting strategic initiatives, providing financial analysis, driving process improvement, and providing key business insights
- Research key forecasting projections as well as management of financial reporting to support monthly and quarterly forecasting, GL research, org structure integrity, and other FP&A support
- Research moderate to complex financial data in support of management decision making for the business unit
4+ years of Finance experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications
- BS/BA degree or higher in one or a combination of the following: Finance, Accounting, Analytics, or Economics
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and across all organizational levels, where flexibility, collaboration, and adaptability are important
- Ability to manage effectively in a matrixed organization
- Self-starter with exceptional critical thinking skills combined with a strategic business focus
- Ability to interpret bank financial statements fluently
- Experience building partnerships and consulting effectively with leadership
- Expert in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint preferred)
- Knowledge and understanding of database querying and creating ad hoc reporting results using SQL, Dimensional (Essbase) or similar querying methods
- Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and achieve results
- Knowledge and understanding of retail banking industry
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
