We are looking for a Technician to join us in building and maintaining our experimental and production vehicles.
In this role you will:
- Be responsible for modifications and maintenance to autonomous vehicle platforms, including truck and autonomous systems.
- Building out sub-systems and harnesses on bench, to be used for higher level assemblies
- Inspect and certify the quality of other technicians work
- Work closely with design and validation engineers to aid in the development of hardware systems.
- Executing scheduled work according to internal build schedule
- Create and maintain vehicle work instructions and build documentation
- Completing assigned tasks while maintaining work quality and standards
- Assist build lead in assigning and managing work both internally as well external partners
- Provide feedback to engineering to improve buildability and reliability of the system
- Provide technical coverage and build support when needed in other locations
- Maintain a safe, clean, work environment
Skills you will bring:
- Ability to read, inspect and implement directions, as outlined and depicted in Electrical Harness Diagrams and Mechanical Prints
- Proficient with measuring instruments and math, as it relates to light fabrication and locating with high precision
- Solid hands-on background. The ability to rely on previous experience or training to inspect and identify defects and failures within the upfit of new builds. These range from visual to operational in nature.
- Reliability and consistency. You have a track record of meticulous work. You are comfortable developing and practicing methodical service through the use of checklists, protocols, and work documentation.
- Clear communication. You are comfortable providing feedback to engineers, and sharing insights with the team at large to improve products and processes. You know how to collaborate, and when to get secondary inspection and review for safety-critical decisions.
- Innovative mindset. You like to find ways to improve the system you are working on. You can solve problems and complete tasks even when the path to the solution is not clear at the outset.
- Flexibility for day Monday through Friday, potential for night/weekend shifts and periodic travel parent location for short term build support
- Experienced in Manufacturing and/or Lean Manufacturing
