Why this role matters:We are looking for an experienced Senior Brand Naming Strategist to establish a clear and consistent naming architecture, framework, and governance for all products, features, and internal initiatives across the organization.You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders across all business units requiring strong interpersonal skills, business acumen, and a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset. This role is ideal for an individual with a passion for language and a strategic mindset for how the right name can drive product success and brand identity. This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Brand, Creative & Campaigns.
Your key responsibilities:- Lead the naming process for new products, features, categories, and internal initiatives, from creative ideation to final approval
- Develop and maintain a clear naming architecture that reflects brand hierarchy, product relationships, and go-to-market clarity
- Strong understanding of brand architecture and how naming impacts product adoption and user experience
- Collaborate cross-functionally to align names with strategy, brand, and legal
- Establish naming guidelines and governance, including rules for product tiers, features, and campaigns
- Audit and rationalize legacy names to maintain a cohesive and scalable naming framework
- Evaluate the competitive landscape to determine the most effective naming
- Articulate and defend naming choices to senior management and diverse stakeholders, leveraging data and strategic rationale to gain consensus and approvals
- At least 7+ years of experience in brand strategy, product marketing naming and/or verbal identity strategy (B2B software or tech experience preferred) ● Proven experience leading naming or brand architecture projects, ideally for complex product portfolios
- Strong understanding of B2B software markets and the relationship between product positioning, naming, and category creation
- Exceptional creative and linguistic skills, with the ability to balance imagination and business logic
- Knowledge of trademark screening, linguistic validation, and global naming considerations #LI-JS3
