About you:

As a Senior Billing Specialist for the Access Group's Ireland operations, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely billing processes. You will be responsible for managing the customer ledger, invoicing clients, and resolving billing-related inquiries. This position requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Day-to-day, you will:

Billing and Invoicing:

  • Prepare and send invoices to customers accurately and on time.
  • Verify billing data and resolve discrepancies as necessary.
  • Monitor billing cycles and ensure adherence to company billing policies.

Customer Ledger Management:

  • Maintain the customer ledger, including updating customer information and billing details.
  • Reconcile customer accounts to ensure accurate records.
  • Track and manage outstanding invoices, proactively following up on overdue payments.

Customer Communication:

  • Respond to customer inquiries and concerns related to billing promptly and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the customer service team to resolve billing disputes and discrepancies.

Reporting and Analysis:

  • Generate regular reports on billing and accounts receivable status for management review.
  • Analyze billing data to identify trends and areas for improvement.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline billing processes and improve efficiency.
  • Implement best practices to enhance billing accuracy and timeliness.

Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations and other relevant financial standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Group Finance, Sales, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success teams to ensure billing accuracy and timely resolution of issues.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior billing team members, supporting their development and adherence to process standards.
  • Act as the key billing contact for assigned regions or business units, ensuring alignment on billing policies and customer requirements.

Continuous Improvement & Insights

  • Lead or contribute to initiatives aimed at improving billing quality metrics (e.g., reduction in credit notes, billing accuracy rates).
  • Provide insights to management on recurring issues and collaborate on root cause analysis and corrective action plans.
  • Champion standardisation of billing processes across regions or business units.

Your skills and experiences might also include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in billing, accounts receivable, or related finance roles.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and billing procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial software and billing systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of local tax regulations and compliance requirements in Ireland is a plus.
