Your Impact as a Senior Bids & Proposals Manager:
As Senior Bids & Proposals Manager, you will play a strategic role within the Commercial team, leveraging strong technical acumen alongside commercial expertise to develop winning, profitable proposals. You will work closely with Application Engineers and Sales to translate technical solutions into compelling, executable, and profitable commercial proposals. Following contract award, you will help prepare a robust, sound business case for presentation to Energy Vault’s executive leadership to secure approval for contract execution.
Your Mission:
- Lead the end-to-end development of commercial proposals across Energy Vault’s energy storage technologies, from opportunity qualification through final submission.
- Deliver accurate, competitive, and compliant proposals on schedule, ensuring strong technical alignment, commercial rigor, and error-free execution.
- Coordinate cross-functionally with many departments and teams to develop integrated technical and commercial proposals, including schedules, cash flows, and profitability analyses, all while ensuring timely and effective communication.
- Review, challenge, and validate technical configurations, cost inputs, pricing assumptions, and risk positions to maximize proposal quality and win probability.
- Evaluate and validate pricing decisions, related to technical configurations, cost inputs, risks, and market conditions, to determine validity.
- Provide constructive feedback and recommendations to optimize resource allocation, improve bid efficiency, and support Energy Vault’s long-term strategic objectives.
- Support project financing activities for Energy Vault owned projects.
- Support go/no-go decisions for new opportunities.
Your Background:
- 6+ years of experience with a Master’s degree, or 8+ years with a Bachelor’s degree, in a commercial, finance, or proposal role within the energy industry (generation, storage, or related infrastructure).
- Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently manage multiple complex proposals under tight deadlines; experience with cost and financial modeling is highly desirable.
- Ability to interpret complex technical and commercial documentation into clear, compelling proposal content.
- Experience preparing and delivering high-stakes presentations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey program plans, proposal strategies, risks, and results.
- Familiarity with structured proposal methodologies (e.g., APMP, Shipley, Miller Heiman) and experience using CRM, document management, and proposal automation tools; strong collaboration skills in cross-functional team environments.
- Strong attention to detail, analytical mindset, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Willingness to travel domestically, up to 10%.
