Overview
The BI Developer reports to BI Section Head. He/she is responsible for managing assigned projects from a technical perspective and should be able to understand business challenges & translate them into requirements/solutions. Accountable for all phases of development process, analysis, design, develop, testing and implementation. He/She is expected to assist the Section Head in the managing of team members and coordinating team assignment and activities. Will also be expected to work very closely with Project Team/Business Analyst and a large set of customers to understand end user expectations.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Understand, analyze, and refine the Application and BI Solutions requirements
Designing, developing, and implementing complex BI solutions, relational and multi-dimensional data models, and administration of the BI environment.
Maintain and roll out consistent reporting and analytic standards.
Perform impact study on the existing BI processes , downstream systems and reporting.
Analyze and consolidate business requirement and develop functional specification design
Ensure efficient data loading and data access in Enterprise BI platforms and solutions
Provide guideline on system integration and Unit testing, processes standardization and job streams.
Work closely with Business PM and Business Users on BI Project requirements and recommend solution.
Leading small teams with responsibility for task delegation, supervision and status reporting
Provide technical leadership to a team of technical developers on BI Tools and technology.
Monitor assign technical tasks of the team and ensure deliverables are delivered within the project timeline
Prepare documentation to ensure all change management, release management and governance processes are adhered to
Develop project documentation according to PMM requirements
Jobholder Requirements:
Education/Qualification
Malaysian citizen
Diploma / Degree from an accredited university or college
Microsoft SQL Certification is highly desirable
Teradata Certification is highly desirable
Experience
Extensive knowledge in MS SQL Server and Teradata SQL.
Knowledge of Teradata data warehouse architecture and toolset capabilities and information management best practices is highly desirable.
Experience in BI tool administration and fine tuning BI environments for optimum performance enhancements.
Experience in working on implementing complex BI solutions in support of a large customer base.
Knowledge in SAS Enterprise BI solution is added advantage .
Experience in Kamakura Risk Management (FTP, ALM, BASEL SA) is added advantage.
Knowledge in the following:
Database : MS SQL Server, SAS , Teradata (Oracle and DB2 will be an added advantage)
Systems : MS Windows (Unix will be an added advantage)
Utilities : Microsoft SSRS, SSIS, SSAS; SAS Enterprise BI; Teradata Utilities mload, fastload, fastexport, bteq;
