­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­What does a successful Senior BASE24 QA Analyst do?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Base24 QA to work as part of an Agile/Scrum team, generate and execute manual/automated tests. The ideal candidate will work on a variety of international projects within the payments industry, collaborating closely with team members, testers, and business analysts to deliver innovative technical solutions.

What you will do:

• The QA Tester works as part of an Agile/Scrum team to validate and certify payment processing functionality and enhancements delivered within each sprint.
• They collaborate with Scrum team members to determine the test approach, make delivery commitments with the team, and design test cases that validate every user story against defined acceptance criteria.
• They translate functional requirements into test requirements and implement test scripts in scalable frameworks for functional and regression testing.
• The QA Tester executes manual and automated tests, schedules and runs test cycles, reports results, raises and analyses defects, and maintains and updates automation after each cycle.
• They also maintain test environments and repositories of test scripts and produce technical testing documentation.

What you will need to have:

• Experience working as an Agile tester within a Scrum team and participating in sprint ceremonies
• Proven ability to translate functional requirements into automated test requirements and to implement automated scripts
• Familiarity with test execution scheduling, reporting and maintaining automated test suites after each run
• Experience maintaining test environments and test script repositories (version control such as Git)
• Experience raising, triaging and investigating defects; ability to reproduce issues and provide comprehensive test evidence to support resolution
• Experience with at least one payment switch solution (ex: BASE24)
• Experience with payment testing tools and transaction generators/validators (for example HISO8583 simulators, transaction simulators or similar tools)
• Knowledge of real-time transaction processing systems that handle online payments; familiarity with acquiring and/or issuing business desirable
• Understanding of PCI DSS and PCI PIN security requirements and how they impact testing
• Awareness of Visa, MasterCard protocols and certification/testing requirements; knowledge of minor schemes and their compliance/testing needs
• Experience supporting production-defect testing and working with production operations teams
• Ability to create and maintain technical documentation for testing (test plans, test cases, run-books)
• Excellent analytical, problem determination and root-cause analysis skills; strong communication and meeting facilitation skills

What would be great to have:

• Experience with performance and load testing for payment transaction flows
• Experience testing back-office scenarios such as merchant settlement and clearing
• Familiarity with fraud detection/prevention solutions for online payments
• Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
• Experience with cloud-based test environments for payment processing
• Ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines and a commitment to delivery
• Self-motivated, able to work on own initiative or as part of a team, and a positive attitude at all times
