About the Role
We are looking for a Senior Backend Platform Engineer to join our team.
In this role, you will be instrumental in improving developer experience by building and maintaining core backend systems that enhance our platform's functionality, architecture, and scalability. You will develop essential tools, templates, APIs, and libraries that empower our product development teams to build robust, multi-tenant SaaS applications efficiently.
As part of a central team, you will collaborate across all our development teams, providing technical and architectural guidance to ensure best practices and alignment with our platform vision. This role offers exposure to diverse technologies and the opportunity to work with engineers specializing in backend development, data engineering, and infrastructure.
As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will:
Improve Developer Experience: Continuously optimize the tools, processes, and workflows that our product teams use to build, test, and deploy applications.
Backend Development: Design and develop core backend systems and APIs using Python and other modern asynchronous backend technologies.
Standardize Tooling: Create and maintain repository skeletons and shared internal libraries to promote code reuse and consistency across teams.
Configuration Management: Implement robust systems for managing account settings in our multi-tenant environments, ensuring strict data isolation and security.
Collaborate & Optimize: Partner with Data, DevOps, and product teams to identify performance bottlenecks and architect scalable cloud infrastructure solutions.
AI-Assisted Developer Tooling: Integrate, govern, and scale modern AI capabilities and automated workflows into our core developer pipelines to maximize engineering velocity.
About You
6+ years of professional backend experience, with a focus on Python (experience in Go/Java/Nodejs is highly valued).
A proven track record of designing and building complex, large-scale systems, microservices architectures, and high-concurrency cloud applications.
Strong experience working within cloud-native environments (AWS preferred) and deep familiarity with Kubernetes and modern CI/CD pipelines.
High efficiency in leveraging AI coding assistants to accelerate the development lifecycle.
Self-driven with the ability to navigate ambiguity, architect long-lasting solution patterns, and partner effectively with cross-functional engineering teams.
Hands-on experience with modern asynchronous frameworks like FastAPI and task queues like Celery, Kafka, or RabbitMQ.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
Demonstrated experience onboarding, mentoring, and acting as a technical force multiplier for fellow developers
