What you’ll be doing 

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Backend Developer with strong expertise in PHP Laravel to design, develop, and optimize backend systems for scalable, secure, and high-performance applications. The ideal candidate will lead backend initiatives, mentor junior developers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain backend systems and APIs using PHP Laravel.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and other stakeholders to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code following best practices and coding standards.
• Optimize application performance, security, and scalability.
• Manage and maintain databases (MySQL/PostgreSQL), including schema design and optimization.
• Implement and maintain RESTful APIs and third-party integrations.
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior and mid-level developers.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing applications.
• Stay updated on emerging backend technologies, Laravel updates, and best practices.

• 4–7 years of professional backend development experience.
• Proven expertise in PHP and deep knowledge of the Laravel framework.
• Strong understanding of OOP, MVC architecture, and software design principles.
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL) and query optimization.
• Familiarity with version control systems (Git).
• Experience in building and consuming RESTful APIs.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Good understanding of application security principles and performance optimization.

Preferred Skills (Nice to Have):

• Experience with microservices architecture.
• Knowledge of Docker or containerized environments.
• Familiarity with cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
• Experience with automated testing (PHPUnit, Pest).
