We're building more than just a healthtech app. We're creating a dynamic, intelligent platform that empowers people to make better, faster, and more informed health decisions. Join us and become part of the mission to humanize and simplify healthcare for everyone.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our fast-moving, global engineering team. This is a high-impact role for a technical leader who thrives in full-stack environments, loves working on complex business domains, and can balance architectural vision with hands-on execution.
You will drive the development of features across frontend, backend, and infrastructure, contributing directly to Healthee's product roadmap and shaping the technology behind our intelligent platform. You will identify pain points, lead with solutions, and transform ideas into reality using modern cloud-native and AI-driven technologies.
If you're energized by ownership, excited by scale, and passionate about shipping great software that improves lives - this is your next big move.

- Design and build resilient, scalable microservices running on containerized platforms like Kubernetes.
- Guide architectural decisions and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and patterns to keep our stack modern and performant.
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and fellow Engineers to explore new ideas, define technical requirements, and build features users love.
- Take initiative on R&D-driven enhancements, developing prototypes or proofs of concept that feed into the product roadmap.
- Proactively identify system weaknesses and lead refactoring or optimization projects to improve performance and reliability.
- Leverage AI-driven tools and frameworks to enhance development efficiency, from intelligent code generation to automated testing and smart feature experimentation.
- Act as a mentor and technical guide to junior and mid-level developers, driving a culture of engineering excellence.
- Contribute to and uphold code quality, documentation, and testing standards across services and teams.
- Partner with QA/Infra teams to integrate robust CI/CD workflows and streamline delivery pipelines.
- 7+ years of professional experience in backend software engineering roles.
- Advanced proficiency in at least two backend languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Go, Scala, Erlang).
- Proficient with data pipeline orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, AWS firehose, Kafka Connect, ex.)
- Deep understanding of opensearch/elasticsearch
- Experience with both RESTful and GraphQL API design and integration.
- Solid database knowledge including MongoDB, DynamoDB, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native data solutions.
- Proven experience building distributed systems and microservices in production, preferably deployed on Kubernetes.
- Experience with CI/CD best practices, automation pipelines, and version control using GitHub.
- Strong grasp of web security standards, performance tuning, and system observability.
- A collaborative mindset with excellent communication skills in both distributed and local teams.
- Passion for building impactful technology with clean code, scalable patterns, and business impact in mind.
- Bonus: Hands-on expertise with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.

What We Do
We’re tackling one of the most impactful ways to improve health in the US: fixing employee health benefits. Health insurance keeps 157 million US employees healthy, yet it’s too complex, confusing, and costly. We envision a world where access to health benefits is no longer a barrier to health, it's an enabler — the way it’s meant to be.
Why Work With Us
We are a blend of global talent driven by our shared mission to make a real impact. We thrive on transparency, inclusivity, and innovation. Join us in shaping the future of Healthcare.
